A lot of people are speculating. Would make a ton of sense with Zeigler graduating and a starting PG role right there for the taking. Also, his family just being an hour or so down the road has got to be enticing.

This...he could be Lanier-lite, I guess, with less athleticism, in that like Lanier, he's not a true 3-level scorer like DK was in his one year. Like Lanier, he has a real quick release, but a more orthodox looking shot. He can shoot from from position or on the move and has range. Not a real threat to drive the ball but is a better passer than Lanier.

Gillespie isn’t even in the portal yet. Talk of him coming here is really just speculation right now. And if he does leave Maryland I wouldn’t completely rule out him following Willard to Villanova as a possibility.

I still think this team needs to find “the guy” somehow if they want to actually compete for a final four next year. We need a balanced roster, but if you just look at all the best teams even the balanced rosters that went the farthest have a go-to star player type.

I know those guys don’t grow on trees, so it’s not like what I’m saying is easy to do. I’m not sure who in the portal would be that guy. We didn’t really know what we had with DK when we got him, so maybe that happens again. But that’s why I was hopeful for a Burries/Ament addition.

Imo would be an ideal 2nd or 3rd option on a good team, think of him say playing the 3 instead of Shack for example. Question becomes can you get a scorer around him like a Knecht or Lanier? If McKneely is your option 1 on offense it probably isn’t a great sign.

That would make more sense if we hadn’t just dominated 3 games and also looked good in the 2nd half against Houston. I don’t think we lost legs, Houston plays smaller rotation than us, I think they just punched us in the mouth and we didn’t know how to respond in the moment.

Very few teams have enough ready to play guys to go that deep. I don’t think we were tired. Houston was just too good.

The McKneely kid is important to our roster building, but really sounds like we are trying to get increase rim pressure from our 1-2 spots. Chaz and Zakai were limited from a rim pressure standpoint and I’m hearing that could be a focus to pair with McKneely.

Yep, I said as much a couple days ago. He really can't be the crown jewel of the class. His game is not that of a primary scorer.

Not sure how anyone on Houston is any more of a”the guy” than Lanier or Knecht was here? Same for Florida, I mean maybe Clayton, but comparatively speaking he’s almost identical to Lanier and less than Knecht.

UCLA fans thinks he plays really really hard and his game is mostly attacking the rim and drawing fouls. Not much of anything else

Sorry but turning down a player who shoots over 40% from three would be a dumb decision.
