I have read somewhere that there are many players in both football and basketball that never get chosen. Someone just getting in their ear about the grass and dollars being greener elsewhere. I do think that going to smaller schools in less competitive conferences is a viable option for some of these low stat players. All these players getting in the portal with 0.3 to 1.9 averages wonder what they are thinking? Do they think someone is going to be looking to grab them. Some are lucky to be where they are right now. 889 in the portal and probably about 200 that can help a team next season. Probably only about 75 that are very good to elite.
If Latson wants to win, get playing time, and get adequate NIL, I would think the top players would be South Carolina, USC, Notre Dame, maybe us, maybe Texas.Nc state could be a good fit as well but not sure they have a big enough NIL program like us , ND , LSU , sc’s of the world .

South Carolina she could easily slide in (at the expense of Fulwiley and/or Tessa Johnson). USC she could be a one-year deal to replace Juju while she's injured, though they also need some post help from the portal if they're going to be a real contender next year. Notre Dame loses quite a bit, but with Hidalgo there and Ivey as the coach, no reason to think they won't be competing near the top again. With us, the fast-pace, high-scoring style is a fit, and she could see herself as the missing piece to take us to the next level. Texas could make some sense with Holle graduating, though she could be taking the spot from Phelia - I believe they were also one of her finalists out of high school, though I see Vic's style as less of a fit for her.
LSU just seems like less of a fit with Flau'jae, Williams, and Gilbert already filling up the backcourt, not to mention their excellent recruiting class coming in. NC State I feel like is losing too much - there would be opportunity, but IMO not really any better odds of going deeper into the tournament than she's been able to do at Florida State. Maybe Maryland is another option - they lose some key pieces but Brenda always has them competitive. I suppose Kentucky could be a landing spot, too, especially if they also got McMahon to go with Strack and Key - just missing a point guard.

Call me crazy. I’d rather have this player than Latson. Somehow I don’t think Latson fits this system. I think she wants bigger scoring numbers than she’s likely to put up in this system, esp w Coop to share shots with. But Deng seems she’d fit great, has an incredible motor and work ethic. Tho of course the last thing we need is another 6’0” guard.
Unicornsmake a list of all the 6.3+ players you saw either vs the LVs or otherwise, who can/could play the up and down style of the LVs. then strike all those who used up their eligibility. How many on your list, whether or not they are in the portal.
I observed a baseball forum where the ongoing desire was to get a cheap player who high 45 HR last year. In all the major league there were five.
You could well be right. If Latson comes here it will definitely mean she’s willing to conform to this style. But I’d be surprised. I think she’ll find somewhere she can still score big and be a contender.K I’ll call you crazy. People have that assumption because that’s what she HAD to do at fsu lol . Does not mean she can’t or does not want to play with a team of skilled players versus scoring 30. If that was the case she would be staying at fsu where she can average 40 next season because that roster is depleted for 25/26.
I mean if she wanted to play with raven she couldve been done that its not like florida state were ever title contender in any season shes been there...but my godness that would be NASTY if she went there lolYou could well be right. South Carolina next yr: Raven (stays to play w her friend) Latson, Kitts, Fulwilley, Watkins, Edward’s. Whew.
I think when revenue sharing starts, you can only have 15 on roster and walk ons count toward your 15I keep seeing posts about getting two bigs out of the portal ! I count 12 scholarship players for next year at this point in time ? If I’m wrong …. Please correct my counting? Maybe some people think we only need two ? But if a Larson wants to come play with us ? That’s a no brainer. Just saying

I don’t think she’ll need to conform to anything. She’s already a very good on ball defender with good hands. She’ll just play less minutes with better teammates and better efficiency. You could well be right. If Latson comes here it will definitely mean she’s willing to conform to this style. That’s even worse for her if you think she wants to score 30 a game huh nobody’s doing that under dawn staley lolYou could well be right.
