2028, who ya got?

If Trump term is mildly successful or better on economy/immigration/crime then it's Vances. If term implodes it's open and usual names emerge.

Harris is toast. Dems will be in feeding frenzy and it totally depends on whether or not they learned anything from this drubbing.

I'm assuming we'll end up with extremists on both sides who just yell at each other and I'll be voting L again.

The wheels I assure you are already spinning. Guys like Rubio in the GOP, Whitmer for the Dems, they are all already organizing teams, discussing polling results and how to adapt to them, and thinking about fundraising. Rubio has to be the odds on favorite for the GOP. Who else you got?

And for the Dems, Whitmer seems like a promising front runner since she can motivate women to vote and is from the midwest. Hard to see a nominee that reflects the social values get it, given last night. So does not auger well for Newsome. Who you got?

And remember, Trump is a lame duck even before taking office. He will need to get done whatever he wants to get done in the first 3-4 months because after that people will be jockeying for position within his own party to own whatever is going well, and distance themselves from any trouble spots.

No mention of Vance? You’re obviously trolling. He’s a better speaker than anyone we’ve seen post Obama

I'm not predicting anything, just speculating on possible candidacies and asking who people think might run. Sheesz.
I read both. a discussion on speculating who is next up.

A prediction of what must be done in a few months.

If I took a bad turn there, please forgive and forget.

Vance-Gabbard on the GOP side.

He'll get in the spotlight enough to earn his way up. He's a very good public speaker and debater and people respond well to him.

I think she'll do well at whatever post Trump names her to and can attract the centrist vote. Her message of "I'm not what Democrats have become" resonates with those that feel left behind by the modern DNC.

There will be a primary of course, but I think Vance comes out on top. The "old guard" which is getting smaller by the day, will promote a Bush or Haley type, but they'll get trounced in the primaries yet again.

The DNC, on the other hand, is ****ed.

Vance will be the GOP nominee. Sad to say (as of right now)
Actually, I think Vance will come into his own and be a very strong candidate. He already handles himself extremely well, and is already clear and concise, and was unphased by the media machine and pretty much spanked their a**es every time he went on air. And that little bit of time Trump gave him at the podium post election was a pretty darn good calling card. He's even keeled and doen't seem to rattle. He would wipe the floor with Desantis.

Whitmer....... bahbhahhaha please run her!

I would think it'll be Shapiro at this point.
At this point, for the Dems, Shapiro may be their only hope in the foreseeable future if he doesn't squander it.

Agreed. That'd be a strong ticket.

Also think there's room for Kemp to become viable and be a legitimate contender in primaries.

Just don't need to see the same candidates trotted out as we've seen in the past. All their times have come and gone.

Hard to vote for an independent knowing they cannot win. But I am a fan at the moment of Whitmer/Shapiro vs. Rubio/Hogan.
If they are so ignorant of the message that was just delivered to them by trying to trot out Kamala that they come back with that blow hole Whitmer, they should go ahead and pack it in and look to 2032. With what is available to Dems right here, right now, Shapiro may very well be the only candidate they can trot out that may pull in GOP votes accross the aisle. Dems have no other person in the batting cages that can win against any half decent GOP pick.
