2028, who ya got?

Also wanted to add I stay as far away from political media as I can, and have for the last couple of years. I mainly rely on my eyes and ears for takes. It doesn't make me correct, but I trust myself more than narrative pushers.

I try my best to be fair, but readily admit I have a healthy bias for Pete. He and his politics resonate with me.

It's not media narrative for me. I saw and called out Biden's early on. Trump is not near Biden's current level, but he's very similar to what he was a few years ago. Mixing up people, places, and times. Periods of almost nonsensical rambling.

Look, I'm not saying he'll decline to Biden level during his term, but there are clear signs. And, respectfully, anyone not seeing them simply doesn't want to see them. Just like Biden he's too old for the job. It's my biggest concern with him, so I hope he surrounds himself with competent people.

I'll respect your thoughts here and disagree. I don't think he's in decline and everyone mixes up people and places from time to time. Overall, I think he's cognizant enough to preform the role and capable of making his own decisions along those lines.

He was successful there. And he's done an okay job in the cabinet. A lot of the issues attributed to him were not even in his scope. Now, he put himself in position for blowback by being in the public eye so much, but he's not the gigantic failure some make him out to be. He's among the good ones.

Sorry but I think you just have your rosy colored gay glasses on. Sure, Petey was a bright young boy at Harvard and then McKinsey. The fact that he served honorably is good, since Dems dont often have that. The gay thing is not going to fly well though. Probably 2/3 of America may not care but enough would to cause him to lose.

Pete's biggest problem though is that transportation has had a LOT of disasters and no real good successes. All that money allocated and how many actual projects are completed? This is something he should have had a little capability on with his short MBB experience.

He is smart but cannot in any way really be considered as a leader. I dont really see being mayor as a knock against him though, it is an executive position, however small. He is young though. Best thing for him is to wash the Biden/Kammy stink off of him, go settle into a state and try for a governorship or get into business and run some reasonable size company successfully for awhile.

Yes. As of right now he's good. In two years? We'll see.

I hope I'm wrong but IMO Vance is a young poor mans Romney. Just another establishment guy.

I think you're dead wrong here. Romney is a weasel, this guy is incredibly sharp and talks like a regular person. I liked him as a Senator and wasn't sure about the VP pick at first, but listening to Vance in interviews, the way he so easily handled leftist media spots, and especially the Rogan interview where he came across as a down to earth guy but still got all his points across in incredibly casual fashion, I believe he was the perfect guy to carry the banner in 2028.

I watched Pete do a Jubilee debate with 25 undecided voters...like Shapiro and Kirk did...I was curious to hear him given your support...I was actually looking forward to hearing him as you did he was level headed etc....i was saddened by the canned MSM debate topics and answers he gave...I was hoping for authenticity but his performance me to believe he is an empty suit like Harris. Don't care much for the format but it does let you see how a person thinks on their feet so to speak..

Appreciate you watching it and giving him a fair shake. I would suggest listening to Pete when he isn't in campaign mode for Harris. He's being a surrogate for her at the Jubilee interview, so he's admittedly staying on her message and talking points, not his personal message or policy. The only bright spot this week for me personally is that Pete can return to being Pete, and not DOT or Cabinet member Pete. He can let loose, so to speak. I'm ready to hear from him outside his "official" capacity.

I'll also add that I've seen countless interviews, debates, etc. of Pete (and met him in real life as well). I noticed he was nervous during the Jubilee video, and that is very unusual for him. I mean he's the dude Democrats send to Fox News, it is hard to rattle him. I think he knew things were going south for Harris, but that's just my personal opinion.

Need a viable 3rd party of moderates. This country will not elect a woman as President. Twice defeated in the past 12 years. Not going to happen

You might be right. I think Haley could win if the Trump presidency ends up reflecting poorly on MAGA. Otherwise, the party will remember her anti Trump messaging.

Republican Party is so split between the ole GOP vs Maga GOP. The Dems are not as split but there would be enough to move to the middle as well as the ole GOP. Problems with this are organizing, funding, national platforms and Trump's performance and commitment.
It would be a total pipe dream and would take time.

The objective would be take the non extremes out of both parties and govern from the middle.

You don't need the Presidency to do that.
