The part I keep going back to is who teams have played. Texas literally hasn’t played anyone of consequence and they lost. PSU is the same.LSU has their own issues, but for Tennessee, losing today would drop us down out of the top 12 in the CFP playoff rankings. That's past making the playoff range. Unless UTEP or Vandy gives us a boost back up then we would theoretically be out. Most people dont truly understood how the playoff really works. Where you are in the final rankings matters way far more than a 10-2 record.
Unfortunately, South Carolina’s probably the better of the two as far as winning goes for Alabama, LSU, and Ole Miss. A blowout today plus beating a ranked Clemson would put the Gamecocks right in probably the mid-ish teens.Yes but they’re still gonna lose one of their Top 25 wins. The point of my post was one of those two teams they beat are gonna fall out of the Top 25.
How would it be backdoor-ing their way in if conference opponent win percentage is literally like the 3rd tiebreaker and they were able to actually beat good SEC teams like Ole Miss and South Carolina this year?We need a win so we can put to bed this idea of LSU sneaking into the playoffs by backdooring their way into the SEC Championship and winning.
