'22 SC SF Julian Phillips (Tennessee commit)

In all Vol and biased but a bit surprised Auburn is recruiting so well. They had violations a bit ago but I guess that doesn’t mean anything to the recruits? I met the guy once but don’t know what type of person Bruce is. I’m a bit surprised that his son is recruiting so well.

I read the article on ON3 about Broome comittment to Auburn and Steven Pearl was his lead recruiter. It was believed Florida had the momentum until Steven and Bruce had the last in home visit with Broome and his father. That's my concern about Phillips, Auburn's entire staff can recruit really well and Bruce knows how to close. Aden Holloway said he was also blown away and his mother was impressed when they visited Auburn during conference play. I keep reading where recruits say Bruce lets you play freely in his system and be yourself. Barnes is more structured on offense whereas Auburn's offense is basically flex offense and pick and roll. The fact that Phillips haven't committed to Auburn, that's good and tells me he may be still weighing his options.

I don’t know much about the young man but read he is an elite player who can help take a team to the next level. I don’t know if that is the case but we lack that type of player.

TIFWIW, Auburn’s On3 reporter pretty much acting like Phillips is part of their official 2022 class. Of course, this guy’s timeline shows he is a complete homer, but maybe he knows something.

Pearl has assembled a helluva class. They'd be the favorite in the west and a strong final 4 contender.

We he says Auburn guys, I think he may be portraying to Auburn signees and prospect they are pursuing. I think that's why he said Auburn guys and not Auburn's 2022 class.

Damn. I was really hoping this would be over this week. You'd also have to think that if he is continuing to shop around after Tennessee, USC, Auburn, and Ignite have all made their pitches, he hasn't gotten what he is looking for yet.
Or he could just be enjoying the attention and visits. At least I hope that’s the case.

Latest I’ve heard is that Auburn/Pearl were unable to match the specifics of NIL, but promised they would. He is thinking hard about G league/Ignite. I’d still say we are 1a or 1b in his top choices if he doesn’t go Ignite. He still talks to our coaches. Tang recruited him at Baylor, and is close with him and his (agent) mentor and former coaches. Tang is also one of the best recruiters in the country. That’s a sad program, but he’s landing great recruits.

Just gonna say what needs to be said…Phillips is decommiting from Will Wade…a coach with no track record of producing NBA talent…only a record of getting players paid.

Let it be said for the type of drivers from the LSU program.

Your snake handler Old Testament phrasing makes it difficult to understand what you’re trying to say.

Former LSU players care more about getting paid in college than they do about developing for the NBA

I am implying they generally believe they will translate to the NBA regardless of coaching, just need the minutes and the money

(Now this is in red text for your King James mind) — Phillips is going where money and minutes are guaranteed.

If I were Julian, and Auburn's offer was still not on par with our offer, and his parents really like Rick (as has been reported).....sounds like an easy decision to me :)
