Personally, I do not see the drama ... he looks like a kid (and family) doing what they did not do effectively the first time around ... look around and check everything to ensure I am making a better thought out decision.
17/18 year old 'kids' decision making ability is erratic, perhaps emotional or unpredictable is a better word choice. [He picked LSU ... in spite of the information that was available. But I was not surprised either. WW was a very good salesman - and I use that word VERY loosely.]
More important is the relationship they have with their parents ... are they willing to follow their lead or are they their own 'man.' JP according to his words values family.
JP, according to his words, appears to be looking at ... how he fits the system that is in place, playing immediately (one and done mentality), and at the bottom trust in the staff and your relationship with them.
The situation with LSU, left a bad taste in his mouth. The coaches who go after him will need more than a sales pitch.
Rick showed him the cards in his hand and played the right card on ... you need it in writing. And he can point to KC, TJ, and KD and LA and he has the NBA connections. The big question is going to be system and fit. We have history with him.
TN is in as good a position as TN can be. The lot is cast into the lap .... so we will see ... just need to be patient for a little while longer. I am reminded ... it is a virtue, apparently, is short supply these days.
My guesses:
I suspect he chooses college over Ignite - a family decision.
I give TN the edge over AUB, but only because of family and we showed him the paperwork. (Does not mean I am limiting the field to SEC schools.)
I see WW and BP as very similar sales approaches. With BP more experienced, but not as good with parents. Which hurts the 'trust' factor, but helps with the 'system' factor.
