Question: why would a player want to be on a team that started him if he did not earn it. Your teammates would dislike you and not throw you the ball? I also saw guarantee minutes. Coach could honor starting then pull you out at 1st timeout.

Because people let alone kids don’t care about what other people think about them anymore. And kids of the caliber I think your talking about ego won’t allow the thought they can’t beat out tHe guy they’re competing against. Jmo

They can promise a starting spot all they want, but if they show up and don’t play the part then they’re not starting.

Unless you’re at Memphis and your name is Emoni Bates.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised at anything he does at this point. I'll trust Barnes on the fit/chemistry. If he's all in on Phillips, it's his call. Just can't help but recall some of the players we've had transfer out...specifically BHH. If Phillips turns out similarly and we passed on some guys who really could have made a difference this coming season, well, it's gonna be hard to swallow. The warning signs are there. Crazy recruitment. Demands. Family/handlers. I'll say it again...I'll take the 2 St. Bonny kids or frankly, any 2 from the list we're pursuing with the money we're likely gonna spend for Phillips and feel we have better odds of a successful season next year than if we get Phillips. I might eat these words and Phillips turns out to be a first team AA and we make the elite 8 with him, but this really feels like oil/water to me.

So is this going to be one of those where we don’t know if he is committing to us until May 12th? Or will we get some inside info that he is coming here or going to Auburn before he announces?

VQ has been awfully quiet about this recruitment so I don’t expect anything there

I truly think no one really knows. I would say it’s truly a toss up between us, Auburn, and Ignite.
