'22 SC SF Julian Phillips (Tennessee commit)

I don’t know how to start a poll so….

Who thinks Phillips signs w our Vols? Another school? G-League?

Our “new” baseball fans are cocky. This is just sad, honestly. The photoshop design work is poor, and it’s not even a funny meme.
I think the poor photoshop is intentional. It's part of the current troll culture on twitter. I see a lot of fans in general post them, mostly in replies.

I haven’t seen our baseball fans produce such poor content such as this. This is just awful and embarrassing 😂🤣

I'm just referring to the recent bandwagon fans both AUBB and UT baseball have recently received. AU fans are some of the last fans in the SEC I'd have an intelligent conversation about basketball with. Bruce is their Vitello

Julian Phillips is turning into a two-team race
6-8 SF Julian Phillips, Branson (MO) Link Year Academy
On3 Ranking: No. 14

On3’s Joe Tipton broke the news that Julian Phillips would be announcing his college decision on May 12th. Auburn, Florida State, South Carolina, Southern Cal, and Tennessee were the five schools on his list, joined by Overtime Elite and the G-League.
Phillips de-committed from LSU soon after the program parted ways with former head coach Will Wade. After he de-committed, Phillips had two official visits remaining; he took official visits to Southern Cal, Tennessee, and LSU in the Fall. Phillips still has one official visit to take, as he took one official visit – to Auburn – since opening up his recruitment.
While there are seven logos on the graphic, our latest intel tells us this recruitment has become a two-team race. Heading into the Auburn visit, all the smoke was around the Tigers. However, in the few days since, Tennessee has climbed back into the picture. Each staff maintains Phillips has not told them one way or the other. Those close to the situation like where Tennesse stands as of this writing, but history shows you cannot count Auburn out down the stretch.

DJ Jefferson has new suitors in the mix
6-5 SG DJ Jefferson, Minneapolis (MN) Minnesota Prep
On3 Ranking: No. 45
Going into the Iverson Classic, Washington State was very close to getting a commitment from DJ Jefferson. He told On3 he would be scheduling a visit with the Cougars within the next week and commit, possibly before the visit.
Since his performance at the Iverson Classic, Tennessee and Wake Forest jumped into the mix. These revelations have postponed Jefferson’s commitment time frame as he schedules visits to both schools.
Washington State has been in there the longest but our latest intel say to watch for Wake Forest and Tennessee in this one, and it may be a matter of which one pushes for him first.

Leave me alone, I'm just being crabby. I just want a good post player
I just don’t know how much different Osun would be than another year developed Nkahmoua/Aidoo/Plav. His numbers are similar to Nkahmoua and that’s A10 vs. SEC, also a 1 year guy so how attractive are we to him?

I might be reading into things that aren’t there but “those close to the situation like where Tennessee stands” sure sounds like some positive news to me.

Yes, it’s what the feeling has been about the last week…it’s not over and this recruitment has had many twists and turns but right now it feels like Tennessee has the edge.

I think his shot blocking and length is what attracts me the most. 3 blocks per game is impressive.

I understand what you mean though

Well keep in mind Drew Pember has 3 blocks per game in the Big South. I also think if any of our bigs were in the A-10 playing 30.6 mpg they'd be able to replicate what Osun does.

ON is probably the better overall player, but I'd rather see Osun start at the 5 with ON coming off the bench at the 4 (assuming we get Phillips) than ON starting at the 5.

I don't think ON is a good enough rim protector

Actually think we see ON more at the 4 regardless of what happens with Osun or Phillips moving forward. Uros/Aidoo at the 5 majority of the time and ON there only if we're playing small ball.

I'll be interested to see what Jefferson does, but reading that kinda made me temper expectations about him coming here. Still, I think we get Awaka, and I love that kid's game.

Also, not sure where the narrative is coming from about ON not being a good enough rim protector, he literally led the team in blocks per game in SEC play even after he missed the rest of the season with injury.

The per 40 numbers give Aidoo the pretty decisive edge, but ON was no slouch at protecting the rim. He had the 2nd best block% among qualifying players on the team (Aidoo 1st), and he had a defensive box plus/minus of 3.1 for the season.
