I do wonder if this tight-lipped secrecy ultimately leads to him just going the professional route. You’d have to think with 22 hours till his commitment if it was a college some crystal balls would be rolling in.

Again, I respect the hell out of his circle keeping this thing so close to the chest lol.

If he does go the professional route, I’ll be disappointed but glad at the same time that Auburn didn’t get him.

If it’s not us, then please chose G-league. The G-league has a lot of pros and cons though. Jaden Hardy who was a top 3 prospect in hs last year,went to the G-league and his stock plummeted so bad that he is not even projected first round pick anymore.

My heart says Vol while my brain says Auburn or G league. Then I change my mind a minute later and think he may commit to another school listed in his top five. I just hope it isn’t Auburn as there will be a meltdown on Volnation.

The problem is they can’t match our NIL offer, they are trying to swindle their way into matching it through promises with nothing on paper. If Phillips buys that then that’s on him we did everything on our end to give him what he wanted

He's had an exceptional track record, so it's clear he has good intel, though my concern is two weeks is an eternity this late in the cycle and the good news (be it Phillips, Hunter or otherwise) could have had multiple twists in that timeframe.

If that’s how you want to take it, I hope you’re right. I don’t necessarily see this as a good thing, considering we’ve heard a lot of Tennessee leaning news the last week. Would have preferred we heard more concrete info on that front by now. That’s probably the BVS speaking tho lol
