He's actually more like a freshman plus, as he only played in 10 games last year, and almost none of the SEC schedule. We should not expect too much from him this season.

IIRC he got hurt, believe it was a concussion and rumor was BP never even checked on him after the fact.

I read that he suffered a season ending concussion in the 10th game of the season, and that it was a very difficult thing for him (as it would be for anyone) thing to handle. Think about being in a concusssion protocol that serious for that long of a time. I don't think Auburn did anything wrong, at least it wasn't mentioned. I got the impression he just wanted a restart somewhere else, and UT was a fit. Having a concussion that severe is another reason we should not expect too much this season.

This is correct. After Powell had the season ending concussion, he dealt with severe migraines and balance issues for a few weeks. During this period of concussion protocol, some silly Covid protocols complicated the equation(This was the in the beginning of Covid so in retrospect it is understandable that they went to the extreme on some of the Covid protocols early on). Bruce Pearl was not allowed to visit Powell in person due to quarantining rules, so he just got updates on Powell's mental health and physical health through the Auburn medical staff. Powell and his family felt ignored and unimportant to the Auburn coaching staff at the time since they had not talked to or heard from any of the Auburn coaching staff for a few weeks. This is a major part of why the Powell family felt it was best for him to transfer. Really i think this is a miscommunication error that was caused by some silly Covid protocols, that have subsequently been removed. In the end, however, UT benefitted from the issue so yay for us.

Had a chance to catch up with Chandler Jackson after his visit.

Really liked it here. Don’t think the late offer is going to hurt Tennessee. Referenced how up front the staff was through the process and appreciated their honesty .

Good friends with Kennedy Chandler and his family. Talked about their parents spending time together this weekend and Kennedy’s dad talking about leaving Memphis when Memphis is recruiting you.

Has one more visit left to FSU and
Them will make a decision.

Not saying the Vols are on top or anything but certainly think they are in the absolute thick of it

Yeah, the only caution I've had about Powell is this is his fifth school in five years. He doesn't seem to stick around if he isn't completely happy with the deal. Don't know if that's him or his advisers.

He went to Monteverde for a year. Which many players transfer to. And as a high schooler I can envision why that might not be where you want to stay.

You're right. When you add in Auburn and now Tennessee, that gives you the five schools.
