Not good, Travis Graf with the flip to UK

Cason Wallace, 2022 Shooting guard - Rivals.com
Graf is plugged into UK, for sure, but I wouldn't hang on to his word like gospel. Like most UK fans, he tends to believe UK gets who UK wants, and reasonably so. For instance, he predicted Nick Smith to UK 3 days ago. I have an impossible time seeing them land both with Clark and Sharpe (likely) to contend with for PT.

That isn't to say that they won't get him, but I think it's far from a sure thing. This isn't a Ryan Callahan or Steve Wiltfong (football analogy) type prediction where it's almost a certainty once they put in their pick.

I've been worried about this one for months, been vocal about it, and even originally believed we should focus our efforts on JH-S as the priority because I feared Wallace was UK's to lose from the get-go. He's really grown on me as a prospect and I'd have loved to have been wrong on that prediction, but this isn't trending well.

And let it be a cautionary tale for those who suddenly believe the UK brand doesn't still carry elite weight with kids. If we want to run with the big dogs, we, as fans, need to be prepared to be disappointed more often than not. Doesn't mean we can't still land some nice players, though.

Graf doesn’t often miss on UK guys, I checked days ago…he also hadn’t predicted it until just a bit ago…he had predicted Nick Smith awhile back and said he was waiting to hear more about Wallace while other UK’s were predicting him, he then made that pick today. Obviously I hope he’s wrong.

Yes, I just edited my post to include the Smith info. I have a hard time seeing Wallace, Smith, Clark, and Sharpe all coexisting, and he just predicted Smith to UK 3 days ago. Doubt they land both.

Their mods seem to think they will…I’ve also seen them say they’re taking Sharpe and then first of Wallace/Smith, and Wallace is getting ready to visit, so…

I’m just asking that maybe you stop with your predictions, or go opposites lol
Man, this wasn't even an overly optimistic prediction, I really thought Wallace was a Vols lock, considering his relationship with Clark and everything else I've read. Throw in UK coming in late and already having Skye locked up, plus NS and/or Sharpe looking like a done deal for 'em, I still felt real good about our chances. I've made a lot of overly optimistic predictions, this one wasn't one of those, this one just seemed inevitable to me. I'm going to continue to be The Dog, but if UK steals Wallace from UT, I will be majorly disappointed and surprised. I love BJ, but CW is the kid I want most in this class. Love his game and he does it all, shooter, distributor and rebounds, extremely well for his size. Still think UT gets him, when it's all said and done. But, if it makes u feel better, "The Dog jinx strikes again, we are effed, he is a Wildcats lock, now! "

Maybe we can get in on Nick Smith then since he is about to lose his spot if he doesn’t pull the trigger. Either that or they’re dumping Clark because of the injury concern. Either way I can’t see them taking all 4 of those guards.

How can their mods seem to think they will land both guys and simultaneously think they take the first of Wallace/Smith? Isn't that contradictory?

Yes, but that’s why I included the second part as well…I don’t know how many they will take but it sure looks as if they’re pushing/trying with Wallace before Smith right now.

Wallace has said that UK was his dream school. They are a serious threat (as they always are) but there is a lot of ground for them to make up. Had they got in on him early he probably would already be a UK commit.

Chin Coleman offered him at Illinois and Jai Lucas has been in contact with him for a year.
