#23 West Virginia @ Marshall

i think the point of what was said was he stinks tonight - true
and also he WILL NOT make the NFL even as a devin hester type player.
product of system and even then hes slightly above average

He's 2 or 3 carries away from 100 yards on the night, playing behind a terrible Oline. How is that terrible?

He was projected as a 3rd or 4th round pick last season, but he's not going to make it to the NFL?

As I pointed out, there's tons of players in the NFL who were "products of a system".

He's leading the FBS in total career rushing yards, so if that's average, what is everybody else in the nation?

Devine has been making a fool of himself, luckily his OLs problems will outshadow his.

If Devine was as great as you're making him out to be, an average o-line should be plenty against any team. Fact is, West Virginia has more talent than Marshall and he is still stinking it up. Most of his yards have come on whatever and long.

Crompton was drafted in the 5th round. Cut before the season.

Being drafted doesn't mean you'll play in the NFL or be there very long. You'll see... Tebow will be gone in 3 year unless he converts to fullback or tight end.

West Virginia still ran the option until Smith became quarterback. At least know what you're talking about.

All of Devine's yards came from the option. The option is a gimmick and doesn't work in the NFL.

If college stats made you a good player, Colt Brennan would be starting in the NFL right now. I'm not even sure there is a Texas Tech QB still in the NFL.

Devine has been successful in a gimmick system. Fact.

Maybe they can be your third favorite team though based on one player. You cheer for multiple teams anyways. None of which you attended. :good!:

Offensively, WV still carries the same offensive philosophies they've had for the last 3 seasons. Fact.

Colt Brennan's successes and failures have no bearing on Noel Devine's future in the NFL. Fact. By that logic, Andrew Luck will be a bust because Ryan Leaf was a bust.

Perhaps. I'll consider it.

Who is Ryan Luck?

Should WVU lose tonight, Bill Stewart's seat will get a little bit hotter.

If he loses to a MAC team that's 0-9 against WV in his third year, he should be gone without a doubt. Half of the starters or more are his at this point. He even has the "great" Devine.

I haven't seen a single option. Devine has been a part of many. How can you say it's the same?

The dude has helped WV's offense garner a whopping 13 points against Marshall using a more conventional offense.

Fact is, he has 99 yards and a TD on 20 carries. Next.

And Crompton's collegiate career wasn't even a fraction of what Devine's has been.

Well, at least Tebow made the roster. :salute:
