#24 chattanooga 36 #25 furman 28

Wow Mocs lost - gave up like 49 points.. BJ tied it up late then proceeded to choke after his heroics by throwing 2 pics.. Elon.. really - after playing so well? Werid.

I hope you feel pretty confident that Tennessee beats Ole Miss. They got knocked off by a team from the OVC...

Surely an SEC team didn't really lose to an FCS team?!? That can't be right. This is the SEC, not Furman.

Top-tier FCS teams can compete with a lot of mid-major teams and the lower level BCS teams. They won't win them all, but they'll win their fair share.

Would whoever said Tennessee would win by 40+ be willing to bet on the UT - Montana game next year with a 40 point spread?

Your boasting about the JSU win looks even better after their loss to the powerhouse of a program in Cookeville. Tech would surely beat Ole Miss the same way UT thumped the hell out of them. Kind of like everyone is doing to your Mocs. The most recent team to do so was Wofford. Wofford was 9-2. They were blown out by Ohio, a mediocre mid-major from the FBS. And for the record, that "#25" Furman team finished 5-6. Great win.

The only time I go to Chattanooga is when I am passing it going somewhere worth my time. I don't see the reason for whining and complaining on here about Chattanooga being better than Knoxville because it isn't.. at all. If anything they would be about equal, but in no way is it better.

As far as BJ is concerned, the NFL scouts will be the judge of him (considering playing for an FCS school doesn't shut them off to him). If he has ANY consideration from them then you MIGHT have a point, but in all honesty he wouldn't be there if he didn't have a little bit of suck in him. It shouldn't be hard to understand that.

By all means, stay the hell out of Chattanooga. Your absence won't stop Chattanooga from continuing to grow faster than any city in the Southeastern United States. I agree that Knoxville is where to be on gameday, but as for the other 6 days per week, I would gladly be in Chatt. I say all this as somebody who has lived in Knoxville for 19 years and Chattanooga for 6 years. It's better down here.

Not that the stat really matters but how can Chattanooga be the fastest growing city in the Southeast when it isn’t even the fastest growing city in Tennessee?

America’s Fastest - Growing Cities 2010

Fastest-growing city in Tennessee: Spring Hill
Number of households: 11,814
Pct. Chg: +10% since 2008 (+183% since 2000)
Average household income: $92,347 (+44% since 2000)
Why: Spring Hill saw the fourth-largest increase in number of households on Gadberry's list, driven largely by the jobs created by GM's plant, which closed in November.

can you say national championship contenders you gutless trolls?

If your rooting for UTC because their in TN then I'm all for it. If your doing it because of Coleman the quitter/loser then you have nothing to say but he is a loser. He quit on UT therefore he deserves no praise from me. If that makes me a gutless troll then so be it I don't root for quitters.

But they did bend the Eagles over.

Just giving you a hard time btw. I don't really have a dog in that fight. I do think that Southern will have its work cut out for it in the first round...Its no gimme.

GA southern needs to thank Wofford for blowing out UTC. That's the only way Southern gets in.

If UTC wins that game its App, Wofford, UTC in.

But alas, if if's and but's were candy and nuts we'd all have a Merry Christmas.

Ehh fluke. we made some bad plays, clawed our way back but made a few more. Oh well, we did beat appy and furman, and we did make it. Not to mention the fact that we about pulled it out over navy...

Furman's level of suck was impressive this year. I wonder who they will get now that they have shown Bobby Lamb the door.

I thought he would be on the hot seat, but I didnt think they would fire him.

maybe living 1 mile from downtown makes my experience a little better than others..

Oh, and lol on saying Chatt is the fastest growing city in the Southeastern US. You must not get out very much.

True. Its funny how no matter how bad they are and good we are, when we play they show up and vice versa. Gotta love the rivalry

Wow! You live one mile from downtown Knoxville? Well that changes everything. I bet you have a sweet view of the sewage treatment plant. Congrats on that. As for Chattanooga, I don't really care if you like it or not. I think it is a better place for you not being here. The only problem with it is that it's an hour and 45 mins from Neyland stadium. I've still managed to make it to every home game since I've lived here though, so it's not that big of an obstacle.

Picking on Chattanooga is always fun. The residents of that city who post here take everything personally. It's like you've pissed in the holy water inside the Vatican.

It is amazing how offended you are.. Sh*t like that cracks me up.

If by sewage treatment plant you mean Neyland Stadium, Thompson-Boling, World's Fair Park, and Market Sq then yeah... I do have a good view.
