These threads inevitably turn into trash in within a day.

Why can't we separate FCS football from FBS football?

By and large all the players that play at the FCS level are there because they are either not good enough or because they bloomed late and did not get recruited by the big boys.

Are there players at the FCS level that could play at the FBS level? Sure there are. Are these players in the majority? absolutely not.

This ridiculousness about whose arm is stronger or whose genitalia is bigger is absurd and pointless. People that argue that BJ is better or Simms is better...It doesn't matter, we will never know. All I know is that BJ is at the FCS level for a reason. Is he a good QB? Yes he is. If Simms were at UTC would he be a good QB, probably. But we will never know and are best left to argue something that matters.

Would you rather go to a mocs game or the aquarium?

In this situation you actually work 70 hours a week at the aquarium and this is your only day off for 3 months.

I would rather work an extra 4 hours at the aquarium

You do realize that knoxville is barely larger than chattanooga right? Take away UTK and UTC and chattanooga is easily larger. Add the surrounding areas and chattanooga is larger by a 2-1 margin.

According to Wikipedia, Knoxville's metro area is 691K while Chattanooga's is 524k.

2-1?

Again, 2-1?

Guess they don't teach math at UTC/McCallie/Baylor/GPS/Red Bank/whatever.

Too bad BOP will never post on this board again after we lose to South Carolina this Saturday.

I think you're on to something here. I would love to Simms at UTC next year.

Sometimes they use sources. This time they did.

US Census Bureau: http://www.census.gov/popest/metro/tables/2009/CBSA-EST2009-01.csv

I mean Jesus, you Chattanoogans have the biggest inferiority complex I've ever seen!

Dumb. I wasn't arguing either way. Was just laughing at you quoting wiki as a source. I didn't bother to click the link due to like of giving a damn.

Chattanooga has an inferiority complex? Weird - so what will it be for residents of Knoxville when Chattanooga passes up Knoxville in terms of population? - the city overall as a whole is already better..

I hope you feel pretty confident that Tennessee beats Ole Miss. They got knocked off by a team from the OVC...

YouTube - Jacksonville State vs. Ole Miss 2010

Surely an SEC team didn't really lose to an FCS team?!? That can't be right. This is the SEC, not Furman.

Top-tier FCS teams can compete with a lot of mid-major teams and the lower level BCS teams. They won't win them all, but they'll win their fair share.

Would whoever said Tennessee would win by 40+ be willing to bet on the UT - Montana game next year with a 40 point spread?
MAC "power" OHIO beat FCS #10 Wofford 33-10.

That was predicted after the 2000 census came in, but it didn't happen. It may one day, but who really cares which city is 3rd? I'd like to know what residents of the two cities will think if Murfreesboro passes them both. They are now up over 100k after adding about 20k in the last five years. That is one hell of a growth rate.

I won't care, I'll have fun watching the people of Chattanooga puff their chests out and act like it's the best thing that's ever happened in their lives. The difference between me and Noogans is that my self worth is not tied solely to where I'm from or where I live.

And...I really don't think it'll ever happen anyway.

Craziest thing happened. I read this and then I walked outside and everyone was "puffing their chests out"...f'ing crazy.

Funny. The posters who were telling Vol fans not to be bitter about Kiffin leaving are the same ones who undermine every accomplishment Coleman has had since leaving. If I was supposed to just wish Kiffin well when he left then why aren't you guys doing the same for Coleman? "He's doing what's best for him." "He has roots there." All those arguments that were made defending Kiffin can be made for Coleman. I'm not happy the kid left but if you aren't pissed at Kiffin why are you pissed at Coleman?

Had Boleman not *****ed to the Chattanooga Times Free Press about how he "didn't get a fair shake," then instead of detesting him, I simply wouldn't care about him.

100K? That's a village not a city.

I just know that for my honeymoon I plan on blowing it all and going to the Nooga.
