Dale's should. It's obvious that you have a different opinion. Even with someone getting that #, it shouldn't go to a rookie. You give a number like that, to someone who has been racing in the Sprint Cup for a while. I still think they should retire the #3, or at least not have it be a black #3.

Not made as in made a name for the number, because he owns it. He made RCR.

The numbers aren't owned by teams, though. NASCAR owns all numbers and assigns them to car owners. The sanctioning body maintains the right to revoke or transfer any number at any time.

He ain't losing the number. While we're at it, retire the 43, 48, and the 24. Hell Might as well retire 88 because Dale Jarrett did good in that car.

You don't retire it for someone who was "pretty good", you retire it for the greats. #3 and #43 should be retired IMO

There are only a limited set of numbers available, retiring numbers really isn't an option in NASCAR.

I don't know but I could see Chase running his dad's #94 since the #9 is being used by RPM.
