I was a leader in my fraternity and drank. I've been involved in harmless yet irresponsible situations. It's college. The kids want to have fun on a Saturday night. If the fight happened because AJ was protecting a girl from assault then I have no problem with a lack of transparency for his football punishment. He shouldn't have a punishment. This is the first incident with AJ and he's a senior, of age, in the offseason and on a Saturday.
These charges will probably be dismissed anyway.
Alcohol is only a problem if the individual allows it to control them instead of them controlling it.Don't know what the charges are but its interesting we want to dismiss drunkenness and fighting as "boys will be boys" yet CBP gets caught in a lie and its time to ban him from the program for life....and here's the one that will fire some up...Alcohol will DESTORY more lives than anything a football player, coach, and any other person can do...Trust me...I speak from experience...ITS THE WORST PROBLEM WE FACE IN OUR NATION AND WE WHISTLE BY THE GRAVEYARD.... Wait until you have an alcoholic child.....Its Not just my opinion...its just the plain hard truth...

We don't agree, or care for each other much, but exactly. This is the exact thing my father said to me when I turned 21. It can be used for many situations as well I have found.
Resisting arrest is different than "defending a girl" even if that was what started it all off.
I'd get the whole team out, even the EE, and make them run til the puke and make them run some more. BUT...I would have these 3 sitting off to the side watching the team run. IMO that'll get the point across for the future. These kids need to know that when the police are involved they need to respect them. Another problem with kids today no respect for authority. I know teachers that have to deal with parents on a daily basis that blame them, and not their precious kids. My dad wouldn't take my word over a teachers at all. Respecting authority was without a doubt a part of my upbringing. None of this "I want to be ur friend" crap.

Shoot - Greg Amsler LIVED in the Last Lap. Had his own corner every Friday when the Vols were not on the road.

These are 18 to 21 year old college students hitting a bump on the road of life in the midst of becoming adults.
I actually like you, Oskie. Sure, we disagree and throw punches but you make the board interesting to me. I do respect that you stick to your guns despite being wrong. Lol
Btw, I agree with your post.
No, if the facts are as initially reported, this is more than a little drinking ... Not showing appropriate respect to authority cannot be tolerated, period! I see some character lessons here that need to be learned apparently the hard way. Young adults need to learn there are consequences associated with poor choices. Not teaching them this is a disservice to the players and team as a whole. Again, this appears to be more than a "bump in the road" incident!
