3 Former Vols chosen as worst picks since 1994

Shuler was a product of greed. He intentionally kept himself out of the Redskins summer and fall workouts and showed up 2 weeks or so before the season began. The fans in Washington basically didn't like him (b/c of his contact dispute and resultant delay in getting with the team) from the start. When he finally did play, he suffered from a lack of practice and the fans went ape-s..t. For the first time in his life, he was booed resoundingly. He couldn't get that out of his head and his performance suffered. This coupled with the fact that he was a John Elwayish type QB forced to be a Troy Aikman type player only compounded the problem.

I still passionately loathe Shuler

Clyde Duncan is the worst draft pick in the history of Vol football. It wasn't the 90's but Shuler looks like a great pick compared to Duncan.

Shuler 100% agree
Donte Stallworth?
Nash being a first round pick I would agree with
I believe Goodrich was starting out ok, but had a couple off the field issues in his third year.

I think Shuler has gotten a bit of a bad rap. He was a talented QB. No doubt he and his agent were stupid to hold out--that was the first problem. The second was that the Redskins were a BAD football team, and no QB short of Manning and Brady can make a bad team look good. Shuler did struggle to adjust to the pro game, but I thought he was getting better when he developed the serious foot problem that ended his career. QB is a tough position--it's not easy to succeed in the NFL.

Totally with you. I always thought Heath was about to turn the corner when his turf toe just took over.

Tebow and Wuerffel better be on that list

God. I still can't believe that fool of a coach convinced the Broncos to trade up for Tim Tebow. John Elway must have been the happiest man alive when it turned out the Jets were even more stupid.

Goodwritch shudn't really be considered a bust. Who knows what he could have done. As for the other two Nash was helped by having Manning as his college QB. Shuler, yeah bi time bust of epic proportions!

Busts are defined different ways. He's a bust but with different circumstances.
