They’re just trying to downplay losing out is all. In this day and age of CFB, you absolutely want to get every QB that is interested in your program. Who cares who’s in your locker room RIGHT NOW when you could lose half of those guys to the portal in the blink of an eye? We stole him out of their backyard and they’re pissed. They should be.

More likely they slow played him and he told them to stick it, honestly. They've already got one four star QB committed in their 2024 class and they have the crystal ball lead for the No. 1 overall player in 2024, Dylan Raiola (QB). So it's likely they tried to play musical chairs and Merk wasn't having it. Here's hoping Kirby is the one with no where to sit again when the music stops like he was last year with Arch Manning.

Kid has enough quickness and athleticism to make some hay running but seems to have great awareness of where the LOS is and what’s developing downfield, even with pressure in his face. Very impressive get coming a year after the #1 qb in the nation.

As others posted this is great ! But UGA didn’t actually give him a committable offer yet. He’s their backup plan and we wanted him right now. Reminds me of when they wanted Jasper Sanks…. And we took some dude named Jamal Lewis. Hopefully this works out like that.
