Not to highjack the thread or anything, but it seems most are in agreeance on the biggest wins. What about losses?
My list:
#1. Ohio State 2007 Sweet Sixteen. That game was in the bag and somehow he managed to give it away.
#2. @USC 2009. They were mediocre at best and absolutely embarrassed UTK
#3. @#14 Vandy 2008. The only reason I listed this one is simply because of all the hype for beating #1 Memphis and becoming the #1 team in the nation then getting beat the first day. It wasnt embarrassing but definitely a big loss. The media didnt even have time to write many articles.

This one didn't bother me so much, I think most fans saw the writing on the wall. We had just reeled off 9 straight wins and were playing the last of 3 games in 6 days. I kinda saw that one coming.

Every reasonable Vol fan knew we were going to lose that game. If it was on a Thursday/Saturday, better chance to win. But three days after getting the first #1 ranking in school history? Tough to come back.
That Texas win is definitely top 5, and probably bigger than the Kansas game. It announced the return of Tennessee to the national scene

Got to disagree with this. Villanova was a top 10 team in MSG for a title.
It wasnt a bad loss by any means and it was played on one full days rest after playing the biggest game in recent history of either program at the time. All Im saying is that that loss didnt even give yall a chance to enjoy being #1 and get all the nice columns and praise for it. Instead, since the Vandy loss was so sudden, all the praise turned to indifference.
UT Memphis game was big game. I beg to differ that is was the "biggest game in recent history" for the Tigers. These were bigger:
2007 Georgetown win (double digit win against Top 4 team on national TV and current attendance record for FEF).
2007 OSU loss E8
2007 Texas A&M win S16
2006 UCLA loss E8
2005 UCLA win
2005 Duke loss
Not in any particular order:
Win on the road at Texas-1st year
Win over Kansas last year to beat #1
Win over Memphis on the road to be #1
Win over Ohio State to reach the elite 8
Win over Kentucky any time is big
