6 straight #1 classes. At what point should investigations start?

Really? Its that simple? Dont think so. I can understand getting the number one class after winnng the NC. But they signed the top class after getting torched by OU and after losing to OSU. Sorry, I call shenanigans. I know nothing will ever come of it but I do believe they are cheating a little better than everyone else. We all know Saban has cronies in the NCAA.

Recruits have myriad reasons why they choose to commit to a school/program, and a team's record or one loss in a bowl oftentimes plays no role in the choice. I heard Swain talk about his own recruitment....he said he was sold on Tennessee and was gonna go there no matter what based on how he was recruited and for reasons why he committed....and Tennessee's 5 losses and 30-3 bowl defeat in 2002 never entered into the equation for him.

Bama is in the SEC and national title hunt every year, has a hall of fame coach, has great facilities and a nice campus and good academics.....and puts a lot of players in the NFL every year. I suspect those things factor into most recruits' decisions far more than a bowl loss to perennial powerhouses like OSU and Okla.

Tennessee should be good next year. But you are delusional if you think Tennessee's defense will be better than Bama's. Bama's linebackers are all better, to a man, than Tennessee's. And UT's secondary is not close to Bama's.

As good as UT's run game will be, Bama's will be just fine, as it always is. And Bama's receivers >>>>>>>>>>>> UT's.

That is the gump in you speaking. Not a one of them is better than Maybin.

Not a one of them is better than Sutton.

Not a bama player is better the Barnett.

Bama's tailbacks are not better than Hurd.

Bama's QB is not better than Dobbs.

It is just not going to happen.

Tennessee wins by at least 10, maybe more.

Heck if our kicker would have made a couple of field goals bama would have been a beat ass last year.

Bama won't get off so lucky this year because a couple of missed field goals is not going to matter.

I think right now the issue is schools have found ways to circumvent the rules. aka Newton, paying the parent without the athletes knowledge (ole miss doing this currently) and then having people pay the athletes that are officially outside the program. think back to when Couch had to sit and Bray would have been as well, there was also a Bama player (O-line I think) named, and he played on their way to an NC. NCAA didn't even sniff at them, while keeping their investigation of UT's involvement open the entire year. and it was a ex-Bama player paying everyone.

Bama returns their entire secondary and most of the 2 deep from The Great Wall of Tuscaloosa. Color me skeptical.

The Great Wall of Tusculoosa that gave up 40 to Clemson. Great defenses don't give up 40 to anybody.

Tennessee will score enough to beat bama. Bama is going to have more problems scoring. Tennessee's defense is stacked.

Explain this. Pretty sure you are talking out of your rear.

Tennessee missed three field goals. Fourteen plus nine is twenty-three. Bama scored 19. Twenty-three is more than 19.

I know adding numbers is hard for a gump. You must be one of those bandwagon bama fans. Probably didn't even watch the game.

Two of Tennessee's misses were from more than 50. Quit pretending they ought to have been made. A good college kicker connects from >50 around 40% of the time.

But let's be generous and say Medley hits two of three. While I am by no means a football tactician, I'm pretty sure Bama would not have gone for two if their late TD put them down by 1 instead of up by 5.

And I'm sure you've conveniently forgotten that the game ended with Bama taking a knee at the UT 4 yard line.

Saying "UT missed 3 field goals" ignores how the entire rest of the game played out.

Anyone else suspicious about the fact that the two biggest threats to Bama in 2017 both had huge negative publicity articles come out on the same day!

Great defenses do have bad games, especially in college. You need great QB play to beat Bama, and sometimes that's not even enough.

Yep. Even after giving up 40+ twice, Bama finished 2nd in the country in scoring defense, and 3rd in total defense.
