And you find a way to discount that Kirby is actually a decent coach. 5* or not he replaced 8 starters on defense and game 1 looks just as good as last year. He’s an elite defensive coach and he’s turned over the offense and allowed it to adapt from what he’s accustomed to, in the name of winning.

Great points-I hope you’re right. Not sure I agree with our success in getting to AR given our pass rush and lack of coverage and coverage sacks against a far lesser opponent. I’m also concerned that we’re thin at LB apart from Banks. Lastly-I still worry that we’ve faced far worse coaches and rosters from UF and lost.

I’m not overly concerned w/ AR’s passing ability. He’s obviously incredibly talented and his strength is out of the pocket. A couple times tonight he got away with some very dumb plays that should’ve resulted in turnovers. I think in that environment, IF (big if) we start fast they don’t have the offense to keep up. They’re designed to pound you with 2 tight ends and then get Richardson going with the play action game. We’re going to key on the run, just like we’re going to versus Pitt. If we stop the run against Pitt and Florida we’re going to win . I think it’s that simple. I don’t say things like that often, especially when it comes to Florida, but that’s the difference IMO. Banks, Beasley and Mitchell need to be racking up the tackles.

Man I am just sick and tired of seeing teams like freaking Florida, Georgia and Bama having success. It kills me. Every stinking year I get excited thinking this is the year we can beat one of them. Then I watch them play and I see teams that look better than we do.

Seems like every time UF gets a new coach people on this board do the same thing. Oh well I am so glad they got him and we are gonna end the streak blah, blah, blah. And it never happens. I personally don’t care what you think about me. I am a member of the Volunteer club. I have had season tickets for around 18 years now. I spend thousands of dollars every year going to games buying merch etc. I graduated from TN. And you got nerve questioning my fandom? If you read my other comments-you’ll see where I compare Kirby to Phil in that they’re world class recruiters more than world class scheme coaches. Phil had to out athlete people too and should have won 2-3 nattys rather than the 1.

I don’t see where Fulmer should have won another title, let alone 2 more. No one was beating Nebraska in ‘95 or ‘97. No one was beating FSU in ‘99, and no one was beating Miami in ‘01.

I’m a little different than most in that I don’t see absolutes.
CPF could have won a couple more titles if luck had bounced his way. Probably should have honestly. But easily have not won any. The ball bounces funny at times and it takes some luck at times to win. Luck and timing has even kept the great Sabin from winning more and probably gave him one or two.

We play Pitt this week and should probably beat them.
Should have last year too. Will we this year? We will find out soon enough

I most definitely am in a wait and see mode. I think he will need to hire an elite OC and just stick to recruiting / CEO role to actually get to places. Otherwise we probably end up with a new coach in 3-4 years.
