7th in AP Poll

If only there was some way the voters could directly compare Tennessee and Bama this year. Like a head to head comparison or a game where both teams participated in to see who is the better team.

But those refs ... LOL

This is bull crap! We should be 5. Ohio State should’ve fallen more, we should be ahead of Bama, and whoever else is up there.
Nope but close:
Should be!
1. GA 12-0
2. MI 12-0
3. TCU 12-0
4. SC 11-1
5. Ohio St. 11-1
6. Tennessee 10-2
7. Bama 10-2
8. Penn St. 10-2
9. WGaS

OSU has one loss and we’ll just have to accept that. If anybody extra gets in it should be them.

I am perfectly aware of how the season played out overly emotional internet jackhole, it doesn't mean I am a Bama lover because I can make a rational analysis of this situation, there is more to consider than just we won or they won, how they lost compared to how we lost matters, the timing of the losses matter, it always has, the loss of our quarterback matters, so get mad or whatever, it is what it is.

Great post!!!
I’m not sure how people can’t understand it.
There’s no Bama bias.
November matters and we have more bad losses this month than Bama does all year and a blowout loss to an unranked (at the time) team. We also lost our Heisman candidate quarterback.
Computers may be able to get past all of that but not a committee of people.

We lost to one of the worst teams we played. Not only lost but blown out. We allowed the pollsters and committee to weigh other factors.
"One of the worst teams we played" is now ranked #20. That's one helluva a schedule Tennessee has played if one of the worst opponents is the 20th best team.

Some people cant look at things objectively, I am guilty of it too at times but in this instance we would be behind them for nothing more than the fact we lost later in the season than they did, if you lose and especially if you lose bad your gonna drop a few spots, Alabama was ahead of us in the ranking after our loss and they are not gonna move us back up ahead of them.

The team that struggled against Georgia St, uNC Charlotte, Vandy, UK, and lost to mizzou, arky, and A&M. Yea. Gtfo.

It's not that anyone thinks they are a good team ... they just aren't one of the worst in the conference as you keep saying.

There’s this and then the idiotic coaches poll had us behind Penn Freaking State. That’s unreal as they have exactly zero good wins. And I mean zero. They barely beat 8-4 Purdue way back in week 1 and they beat 8-4 Minnesota. I believe those are their only wins against teams with a winning record plus they got blown out in their only 2 tough games. We would beat Penn St easily even without Hooker.

This is good stuff.

Very compelling. Doesn’t show one small fact that can’t be ignored:
Bama (who I despise) lost two games on the road by what - three points? While UT got destroyed by South Carolina. Just let that sink in. Destroyed by South Carolina. We allowed them to score 63.
Sixty three points. To south carolina. Last week. And you think a committee will ignore this?
Like it or not, that 63 points defined this season and it cannot be unseen by a committee.
I hate it, please don’t get me wrong. But I’d rank Bama ahead of us too. And they certainly will.
We got boat raced by south freakin’ carolina. They suck. - and don’t tell me beating a sorry ass, crappy acc clemson team makes them somehow good.

If you still disagree, just ask yourself one question: if your life depended on it, who would you bet on to beat South Carolina tomorrow - Alabama, or UT?

That’s the answer.

One guy got Heather Dinich good on ESPN. Said if Bama was Arkansas with that resume, would they be ranked ahead of Tennessee. She said no. Lol

I wish they would use the strength of victory stat that the NFL uses. It’s the win% of your opponents you beat. If you lose to a team, their w/l record is not included.

For giggles, I calculated SOV for Bama and Tennessee...

Bama is 62-58 or 51.6%
Tennessee is 65-53 or 55.1%

Also better than Bama's

So they weight victories based on who your opponent has beaten? That makes sense.

Take off your orange glasses and take into account that we lost two games that weren't close, and one of those losses was historically embarrassing.

Bama lost two very close, last second games to top 10 teams on the road.

They have a slightly better resume based on those losses.

That is true and I struggle with that...cause at the end of the day we WON the head to head match up.
