7th in AP Poll

Sure there’s an argument. We had a golden opportunity to make it not one. I could see being ahead of Bama and I can see why we aren’t. It’s really irrelevant at this point though.
There is not a good reason for why we are ranked behind Alabama.

They have zero quality wins. They have beaten absolutely nobody, and we not only beat Alabama head-to-head, but we also beat the other team who beat Alabama .... and did so by 27 points on the road.

Lots of great reasons. They have been at least competitive in every single game. Losses matter. Terrible ones matter more.

You mean other than us losing to South Carolina?. ....
Does that negate Tennessee's win over Alabama?

Does that negate LSU's win over Alabama?

Does that negate Tennessee's 27 point win over LSU?

Does that give Alabama a quality win?

(I'll answer this one) No, because they don't have any of those. Their best wins came over 3 teams (Ole Miss, Miss State and Texas) who are all just 8-4.

What happens if LSU beats UGA??? We will of demolished the SEC champs on their turf. If it happens we should jump the “periods” and possibly go to the Sugar bowl. Thoughts???

Nope. UGA will be in and lsu will go to an NY6 bowl. At this point we have no path to being in the top 4.

Right ... Short Bus.

FACT #1 : Tennessee beat Alabama head-to-head.

FACT #2 : Alabama has zero quality wins. They have not beaten anyone currently ranked in any of the polls. Tennessee has two such wins, however.

FACT #3 : Alabama lost to LSU in Baton Rouge. Tennessee beat LSU in Baton Rouge by 27 points.

FACT #4 : For as much as you Bama lovers want to talk about their close losses, they barely beat Texas A&M at home, and should have lost to Texas on the road. They escaped by 1 point, but only because of the injury to the Texas QB Quinn Ewers.
Miss State is 25th in the AP

What terrible loss do they have? The common opponent factor doesn’t mean a thing when you lose to one of the worst teams in the conference by 20+.
Do the facts matter at all to you?

How can you look at these standings and conclude that South Carolina is "one of the worst teams in the conference?"

SEC Standings

East

Georgia ................. 8-0 ,12-0
Tennessee ............ 6-2 , 10-2
South Carolina ... 4-4 , 8-4
Kentucky .............. 3-5 , 7-5
Florida ................... 3-5 , 6-6
Missouri ............... 3-5 , 6-6
Vanderbilt ............ 2-6 , 5-7

They are not even one of the worst teams in the SEC East. They finished 3rd out of 7, in both conference record and overall record. You have badly overplayed this hand.

Even crazier when you look at the SEC Standings with East/West affiliation removed. TN would still be playing for the conference title this week if we were in a top2 system like the PAC12 and Big12

SEC

Georgia ................. 8-0 ,12-0
Tennessee ............ 6-2 , 10-2
LSU........................6-2, 9-3
Alabama.................6-2, 10-2

South Carolina ... 4-4 , 8-4
MS. State.............4-4, 8-4
Ole Miss................4-4, 8-4

Kentucky .............. 3-5 , 7-5
Florida ................... 3-5 , 6-6
Arkansas..................3-5, 6-6
Missouri ............... 3-5 , 6-6

Auburn....................2-6, 5-7
TX AM.....................2-6, 5-7
Vanderbilt ............ 2-6 , 5-7

Without Hooker, we aren't even a top 10 team. Milton is not a "next man up" situation. He overthrows everything. He can't hit the broad side of a barn. He throws it a country mile and hopes the receivers can chase it down. News flash.....they can't.

I expected a better performance from Joe vs Vandy. But when you are ramming it down their throats, why worry? You are right about Hooker. HE was the Man. Tenn isn't nearly as good without Him.
