8/19 scrimmage?

I just don't understand how we go from a top flight O/L producing school to a O/L that seems out of sorts.I don't get it.If the O/L turns out to be the weak link to this team, we are in big trouble!
with graduation, guys leaving early, trasnfers, the guys going home we've lost 6 or 7 lineman from last year.

if rob smith would have stayed in school, the left side of the Oline would have been in tact. the side of the line UT has always had the most success....:ill_h4h:

I'd rather have a David Ligon and Josh McNeil that have enough heart for the whole team than a Rob Smith that just grew tired of it any day.

I have never seen Bo Hardegree play. I gather that he is intelligent and has a good understanding of the offense. It also sounds like he has composure and does not make mistakes. Ok, somebody who has seen him, compare his physical tools to a very similar QB we had last season...one Clausen. In other words, just how good is his arm? Better than Clausen, about the same? Is it anywhere close to say Crompton or Ainge? Is he slow? Really skinny? Etc.

Thanks in advance.

On a positive note; Sears didn't play that much. Coach said they had pretty good push when he was in there.

It's funny to see the glass half empty or half full when it comes to a scrimmage. One person sees the o-line as not up to par while the other see the defense as better than expected, one see the passing game doing well, while the other sees the secondary as weak.

In your opinion what would be the perfect scenario for a scrimmage?

There is no perfect scenario. If both show flashes but neither is dominant, then they will both be considered inconsistent by a bulk of the fans.

That's kind of what I'm tlaking about, some people will see weaknesses and some will see strengths. I think a perfect scenario is a game with few or no mistakes. there's no ifs, ands, or buts about it the mistakes on both sides of the ball killed us last years

It is quite funny.

Not only that, but two people can look at the same scrimmage and see different things. There have been some articles and media members who were pretty negative on the scrimmage and some were positive. Some of the things I have read, I wonder what they were watching. Of course I might be the one who is crazy. Probably so.

We really just have tro try not to put too much into these things as most of the time it's not the coaches goal to "look good". The scrimmages are very situational. They have things that they want to see and specific things that want to work on. We have no idea what that might be.

I think most people when they watch a football game know when the game is well played. Few turnovers, penalties, dropped passes, bad throws, poor tackles, poor blocks, etc.

The consistent comment was the offensive line was not blocking well. Thats the only consistent negative I heard.

I sort of get what you are saying, but come on man . . . We sack the QB repeatedly and you're complaining about who got the sacks. :ermm:
No. Not complaining. Just concerned if we can't consistently get a push with just the front 4.

You can't always throw blitzes at teams. Teams like UGA make a living on catching you with a dump, swing, or screen behind a blitz.
