I was also 8-4 because I’m not a delusional fan like those saying 10-2 or SEC championship was reality. No it wasn’t. We had a superstar last year that we don’t this year. You don’t graduate the likes of Hooker, Tillman, and Hyatt and expect a repeat. Everyone seems to forget that Heupel is basically rebuilding a roster from the decimation that happened when Pruitt left and all these guys bailed on us.

I doubt that very much. Having said that, I think 7-5 will depend on how we do in the portal. Frankly, it might be our ceiling given the killer schedule Nico will face in his first year as the starter.

You could see midway through the first quarter that this team didn't show up ready to play. The game reeked of 2022 SCjr.

Match up in an in-state bowl game with a lower level Big 10 or ACC team and get a 9th win. Play Nico and the kids and work toward 2024. Wins over A&M at home and UK on the road were the best efforts these Vols had in them. Definitely need some experienced portal imports and maybe get a redshirt for Pili to upgrade the squad in strength and toughness. 9 wins is a nice achievement as this team lacked critical skill players for a championship team.

I still don't believe we should have lost to Missouri especially in that manner. It's a recurring theme that heupel teams struggle on the road

Joe did well today but our lack of ability to throw the intermediate pass killed us. Especially when our offensive loses upfront. This hasn’t been a great season but not a terrible one either. There’s a good chance we can be better next year

Despite the embarrassment today we can still finish 9-4 with a win in a bowl game that’s not a bad season and we would’ve killed for that a few short years ago.

I mean, that’s still often a ranked finish if you pull that record off. That’s not an awful ending given the reality of the pieces being worked with this season.
