_Vols in NC...get out and vote!!! Need your help. MAY 8

It's just a fact of life, all trough history it is the same. I believe the basic rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness were granted at the begining of time but there has always been some one some where restricting all or portions of until someone stood up.

The point is it's not going to happen until people do something about it and change the minds of the voters and calling them idiots, bigots or rednecks will not work.

It's just a fact of life? You're really going to go with that? Sorry 6 million Jews killed in WWII, but you were a necessary step because it's a fact of life. You had to die so people would stand up for you. Sorry women that are beaten senseless by your husbands, but it's just a fact of life it had to happen so people would fight for your rights instead of treating you like property. Sorry black community but you had to go through the whole slavery and lynching stuff just to reach a point where people would say enough is enough.

I'm sorry, but that is the most pathetice excuse for human behavior I have ever heard.

Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. I forget who said that, but I always remember those words. We, as humans, seem to forget our past quite often. We're at a place where people should not have to fight so hard for their individual rights. Don't get me wrong, it will happen, but the point is it shouldn't have to happen. We should be better than that, but sadly, we are not.

You continuing to argue that people need to stand up and fight if this is what they honestly believe is a moot point. MLK didn't spring up overnight. The momentum is building and there will be a fight. Check the political landscape and you'll see the signs. I hate politics, but when things start to develop there, then you know the boiling point is getting close.

Still waiting on 'defenders of traditional marriage' to start pushing for constitutional bans of divorce

It's that selective reading of the Bible. They're quick to point out "God"'s definition of marriage, yet ignore the part about it being forever. Adultery=okay. Gay=wrong. It's like playing mad-libs with the Bible and sins.

I have a million Toby stories .lulz

Sounds like he's had a hard life, but damn, I would have thought at the end of three he would have learned his lesson and just have them start living with him.

It would be interesting though to see someone challenge this five strikes law in court. Do you know if Alabama would recognize his marriage to wife #6 in FL if he moved back?

When will an amendment banning working on the sabbath be on the ballot?

I remember when I was young there was no businesses open on Sunday.
The " Blue Law"(iirc) was passed and businesses were allowed to open between 1-6 pm on Sunday.
Things sure have changed.

I'm not sure about banning work altogether, but Jerry Richardson better be ready to either sue the NFL for the right to play all Panther home games on days other than Sunday, or he'll have to move the franchise to some morally corrupt state. There will be no NFL football played where beer is not sold.

As a matter of fact, alcohol sales in NC were illegal on Sundays until when? You guessed it.

When the Panthers came to be.

I remember that. In South Knoxville, the only thing open on Sunday was one pharmacy w/ limited hours.

Odd that anything is closed anymore. No liquor here on Sunday but beer sales are OK. Many of the conservative businesses are closed as are auto dealers. Not sure if all are closed or not.

I'm pretty sure Chick fil a is closed on Sunday's for their company's religious stance. I think I read that somewhere.
