A few facts for the mopes on here

Why not?? Everything written in this thread can be used during dooley's tenure. Imagine Hart leaving after the season and the new AD wanting to make his own mark, throw in the NCAA as ur office neighbor, and a team full of misfits.

CBJ needs to take care of business ASAP. If he doesn't he won't survive this fan base. His top recruiting class will start to dwindle, and he will have to start settling for players he wouldn't have normally wanted. We were told he can coach up players and do more with less, and he hasn't proven that yet. So if he has to settle with regular talent players, and learn how to coach against the top coaches in the country??? Hart is clock with this hire, so CBJ needs to survive for both of them. I my opinion Dooley inheritted a much better team than Jones did and would probably still be the coach here if he made a better hire as his DC. I have not seen anything out of Jones that would indicate he is any where near as bad of a game day coach as Dooley was and I do think Jones has made some questionable decisions so far. Now if he is still making bad decisions in his 3rd season as Dooley did you may have to evaluate then.

As I stated earlier I think coaching in the SEC is a learning curve for this staff and also instilling a winning attitude in the players that are here.

I think so given the state of the program and the financial situation the program is in but a loss to a Kentucky team with a WR as the QB could change that.:)

You do realize these firing decisions are based almost always on financial reasons? If Butch doesn't make a bowl by his third year, they won't have a choice. Tickets sales will be to a point they will not be able to afford to keep him.

I do not think bowl games have as much to do with it as home game tickets sales and last Saturdays crowd was not good but we also have to remember the athletic department has run in the red recently and there is not a lot of cash for buy outs.

Lets just hope we make a bowl this year and this discussion is all for nothing. I have been in misery for 3 years because I never liker Dooley from day one so I am trying to be optimistic and enjoy a coach I actually like.

There is a direct correlation between team success (enough wins for a bowl) and ticket sales.

LOL, not hardly. Go find a post where I've been critical of the coaches other than a couple of minor things. I have been very critical of posters that can't have a reasonable discussion both positive and negative about the team and the coaches. Many posters on here go into attack mode the minute someone dares to question Butch. As I've said many times, I like coach Jones. I hope he is the next General Neyland. I hope he is successful because if he's not, we start this whole process over in 2-3 years from now. Have I been impressed his game planning and game day decisions? No, I have not. I think he's learning on the job to a certain extent.

Now Oregonvol has his own view of the situation and while I agree with some of his points, mostly I don't. I do respect his opinion as I do everyone on this board and I usually just avoid posters that I think are over the top. I do not call people's opinion moronic, stupid, or whatever the insult of the day is. I also do not question their fanhood or question their knowledge of the game.

Sometimes, I'll ask a question to a poster that post something that contradicts their stance to cause them and/or others to think about the other side of the issue as I did in this thread.

I feel like you are mis-characterizing me. I have never posted anything about wishing Butch Jones would fail. I hope he succeeds. I have not called for his firing. I think he'll be here awhile.

But, I have seen many distressing things with this team's performance, and I'm not going to just blame the players, like most people here seem to want to do.

I also rarely refer to anyone on here as moronic or stupid. In fact, I can't ever recall using those exact words. Sometimes I may be more acerbic than ideal, but it's always toward someone who has attacked me (or just generally attacked all fans who are the least bit critical of the coaching staff) first. And I'm confident that any sane person looking at the posts can tell that the personal attacks on me far outnumber any insults I've posted in response.

Not talking about you oregonvol. I was talking primarily about the ones that take personal shots at posters that say the slightest negative thing about Butch or his staff. I have been concerned too and have brought my concerns up here and have been characterized as someone that wants Butch fired. These are a ll opinions on here, seldom facts and everybody's entitled to theirs.

Im so sick of these posts saying we don't have enough 4 star talent Vandy beat us 41-18 and they had five 4 stars total on the roster.

I think the fact that our coach was on his way out while Bray had his mind on the NFL and throwing bottles may have had something to do with that. Almost as useful as bringing up the Wyoming loss a few years ago.
