Couldn't find his thread to bump but just think he needs to be shown some love. Follow his twitter and earlier today he had a monster game of 23 and 16 boards in a win in a tourney in Ohio. I can't wait to see how all three of our commits turns out for us.

I said at the time of his commitment, Davis has the potential to be all-sec while at Tennessee. Whether or not he reaches his potential will be on him and his willingness to get better.

shows Landry 9 of 19 free throws did I read that right. Hope he is better than his stats no scoring and low assists

I think being under the wing over Maymon and Stokes will help him. Working with the S&C coach to get some build to his body. I can see him coming in and clocking some minutes. I'm assuming he can shoot midrange. Him and Reese should be able to spread the floor. Similar body types also.

His perimeter and mid range is his strength, he was a guard until a growth spurt so his perimeter shot is very good.

The top ten teams are top ten b/c their players can shoot the basketball!

Well cant resist....would you say that again but slower this time because I want to make sure I got it...by the way...get ready to get TORCHED...I'm playing...on a serious note about the midrange game...heard B. Knight and J. Bilas discussing why we are seeing more and more games in the 40-50 point range...concluded the three and sports center highlites of massive dunks have helped destory the midrange game where in years past that's where the game was won and lost...great observation in my opinion...

True story. Very few kids have the one dribble pull-up mid range jumper.

I think there is more uncertainty about Landry being a D1 SEC player than anyone of the 3.

Personally, I wish he hadn't already signed. Would love to drop him and add Oowotoah or Jorgenson or both.

Josh Richardson has this element in his game. He actually scores the majority of his points using it.

Yeah I agree...but actually most of his points in that midrange area come after making one on one moves to free himself...I was think more of the motion offense screening to free a midrange shot...most offenses arent geared for that anymore the way, say, we did with a Dale Ellis, Reggie Johnson, Bernard King, Ernie Grunfeld, Allan Houston, etc. type of players...of course something interested about those players...their game had it all...maybe that's why they are Tennessee legends...but i think you're right in that Richardson is as close as we get to the mid-range game effectively...

Richardson's mid-range jumpshot is an effective zone buster. Watch out for him driving to his left to the soft spot in the zone. He pulls up and it's almost automatic. He can get that shot almost all night long.

Josh and Jordy both have shown a midrange game and look good pulling up around the ft line.

My favorite of all time was Doom Haynes. Dude used the glass from about everywhere within 15 feet.

Ol' Tobias had a nice mid-range game, and he abused the backboard too. Complete offensive game. What could've been...

Going back to Richardson, I'll never understand how he can probably hit that shot at a 50% clip, yet he's not much more efficient than that while standing in basically the same spot with no one defending him (otherwise known as a free-throw).

His jumpshot is better tuned than his FTs.
