A message to the OGs (Original Grudenites)

This has been an extremely fun coaching search thanks to you guys. I'm not really sure how much of it was true or not, but honestly, I never really cared. It was fun to believe for the last few weeks that Tennessee football was special once again.

My favorite times as a Vol in the past 2 years were in the Gruden threads the past few weeks.

You'll get some posters calling you out - but anyone who does so wasn't a TG (True Grudenite). They are just looking to place their frustration with the hire on someone who will listen.



For the haters: The Grudenites aren't going to systematically reject Jones and Tennessee football solely because of our desire to have a great coach at Tennessee. I can only speak for myself to say that I am beyond disappointed in this hire - I understood and would have supported Strong and Gundy (even though $4+million for Strong is too much IMO). Jones is just a C-Grade hire for a program that will be stuck in mediocrity for years to come.

It'll be an interesting offseason - I think this hire is going to split the fanbase big time and Hart is going to be public enemy #1.

Hart should be public enemy #1, not Butch Jones. People should rally behind him because this man can coach the game of football. This is something that has not been present for the past 3 years.

There you go, suppress funds to the AD and drive us to the bottom faster. Make recruits not want to come here because of our gigantic empty stadium. That will show em.

OGs were trolled, or they were trolling us, or they were just plain FOS.

Either way, a thanks certainly isn't in order. It would go a long way, IMO for them to start naming sources and let the rest if us come to our own conclusion as to what probably really happened.

Kind of common knowledge that it's not Hart but higher up. Your right Jones just came in and maintained the program Kelly built and it best an average coach. Beyond me why they just didnt call Tee Martin and make him HC.

While I enjoyed the Gruden threads at first I feel like they ended up becoming part of the problem with this coaching search. Stringing people along with unrealistic exceptions, putting people down who was not in 100%. I should go back and find all the *******s you told me to shut up for questioning their fantasy, and it was done, Gruden is coming. The Gruden thread in the end deserved the hate it got.

Absolutely false. Kelly did not leave much when he left-it was a senior heavy team. And if that is going to continue to be your logic then we can argue that Kelly maintained the program Dantonio built.

Jones has been winning with young players the past two years at an AQ school with some of the worst facilities in the country.

The boosters did the heavy lifting behind Harts backs and that really pissed him off. The boosters stopped every hire from happening until last night. Hart disconnected his phone so no one could stop it.

True fans are true fans no matter what. I dont know if Butch Jones is the answer but I'm willing to give him a chance . I'm not as concerned as much with his coaching as with his recruiting because I believe he has shown he can coach at both schools hes been at. Dooley totally lost his team and nobody respected him. I can tell just by his you tube video that he really cared about his players and they him. VFL means Vol for life no matter what you support your team even if you disagree with their choices. So if you dont support the hire thats fine but if you refuse to support the team then you are not now and never were VFL !!!! Go VOLS

Bottom line is Butch is a three year coach at best. I'm not blaming him, hell this was a huge leap for his career. I hope I am wrong and I'm not going to actively not cheer for the guy or anything, but I just do not see how we got an actual upgrade to what we already had....
