Vandy may be great in a couple years....inside Memorial Gym. Outside of MG, they will continue to be horrid...

Do away with the Rocky Top League!!!! Immediately!!!! Our guys played the whole season like it was the summer league. STREET BALL DOES NOT WORK IN THE NCAA!!!!!!:banghead2:

I originally thought something along the lines of that. Then I realized that the RTL kinda wears off on these guys by the time they should be starting their fall practice. I'm not sure my realization is true though.

Suuuure, that has nothing to do with it. It's a pickup game with refs and fans. If they do that crap in practice and games, it's the coaches job to stop it.

This might be a really silly question I'm about to ask, but do you need any qualifications to be a coach in the RTL? Or do you say to the guy that runs it, "I want to be a coach".

Damn. I wanted to coach, win every game, and make it look like I knew what I was doing so some random guy would look down from the stands and say, "Hey, maybe BP should hire him"

It's not that I don't have a good knowledge of the game. I think I do. It's just that RTL games are glorified pickup games.

The fact of the matter is that I believe Pearl could do every one of these things on the list and I still don't think it would be good enough for many of the posters on this board.

If Bruce Pearl did everything on that list, the team would at least play harder and look competent in the halfcourt. The motivation factor would suddenly be present as well. I can say with absolute certainty that if Pearl were to do all of those things, it would solve for all of mine, and most others', complaints.

Increasing the Free throw percentage by having them practitce free throws would help.

Also, having designated 3 point shooters who can shoot the trey would be nice.

I hope Chism and Tyler Smith stay and JP leaves.

Bruce, please focus on a team cohesiveness this year, street ball is for the streets.
