A telltale sign at the Vol Walk

Didn't have anything to do with the OL allowing a 2 yard loss on 3rd & 1 that would have essentially iced the game?

Or not covering their best offensive threat with under a minute to go?

Or for the second game in a row, allowing a QB to prance, unmolested, into the endzone?

Please explain the game of football because after this claim, it's clear I have misunderstood the whole thing.

How you can blame the defense for anything is beyond me. That's just stunning.

And those are a few examples, a lot different than an entire game of miserably poor play.

2nd paragraph:

Yet we do those things, none of which involved Dobbs, we still win.

Initial gibberish:

Are you serious?

I mean really really serious??

Unfreakinbelievable.

We have the most ignorant fans in the history of sports.

He didn't ask to start, was forced by injury! He is a true freshman and it damn sure has something to do with his play. I can tell most on here are not as smart as this true freshman.lol Dumbazzez abound!

I don't think he was scared - I think he put so much pressure on himself to get his seniors the win/bowl game that he ended up kinda "psyching" himself out. I've done that - wanted to do well so bad that I "froze" myself...and I'm not an eighteen year old..just sayin'

PS - didn't see him at the VolWalk in person but he doesn't look scared in that picture...

For the first time I got to be at the very front of the crown for the Vol Walk. It was great. I got to shake the players hands and basically be about a foot from all of them. Here's what I saw.

AJ- Cocky, laughing, slapping hands with everyone.

Rajion- Smiling, acknowledging the crowd

Lane- Same as Rajion

Maggit-Firing up the crowd. Talking to everyone. Telling the whole crowd Tennessee was going to take care of business.

Dobbs- Completely and utterly terrified. Looking straight forward. Hands to his side, not acknowledging the crowd.

I told everyone I was with it was a bad sign. This kid has zero confidence, zero leadership, and very little skill. He's not an SEC quarterback.

That is all.

Starting quarterback for a D-1 SEC school. Can't play the freshman card. He has to grow up and be a leader.

Contribute at a high level?

Acknowledge the crowd. Show leadership. Act like a QB. These things are easy.

No we're talking about a kid who looked terrified when everyone else was confident. And that's exactly what showed on the field.

I'm saying there's a direct correlation "pal".

When you are the QB, you are the leader of the team. You need to look, act, and play like a champion. Dobbs did neither of those 3.

Insurance Agent actually.

We 150% lost because of him. That is not even close to disputable.

All the above is what's stunning. And not in a good way.

I've done the same thing on a bowel movement.

Anyone who has ever followed my posts will tell you I'm a huge apologist for the boys in orange. I defended Bray until I was blue in the face. I defended Crompton consistently, telling everyone his receivers were dropping passes and that I know he has it in him to be good.

I'm not just here to bash Dobbs. Just being realistic. He looked like a scared puppy walking through the Vol walk. He was literally one foot from me. He played like a scared puppy too.

Dobbs may be good one day, but I'm just being realistic in saying he's not a good football player right now. Even through all his faults, it felt like Worley at least led the offense. With every snap you just hoped Dobbs wasn't going to screw up. I think I heard somewhere he was 1 for 5 with 5 yards and two turnovers in the first half (haven't checked that for accuracy but it wouldn't surprise me).

So the point of the Vol walk perception is that his "scared puppy-ness" obviously translated to his play on the field. It wasn't about him being stoic, it's about him being scared. Sorry to hurt anyone's feelings but here's this image......

Call it what you want. I'm going to call it a spade.

Yes, it is. But for a penalty by Pig, we win. But for a failed 3rd and 1, we win. Sure about that?

You are pressing hard to backup your opinion. Just because he looks a certain way for a 5 minute period, doesn't mean anything. No one here has a clue how he acts behind the scenes. In fact, when he threw his first INT, he immediately went to Johnson to ask why he made his move up the field. Geez, our fans hang on to the strangest things.

I'm amazed at the level of importance folks place on the crowd and their influence on the outcome of a football game. This guy is not just saying that about the fans during the game, he's saying that by not acknowledging the fans like Trooper Taylor on a meth bender 2 1/2 hrs before the game, Dobbs wasn't ready to play. Really? I wonder how UT ever won a game before 1988 and the first Vol Walk which, by the way, Coach Majors instituted after seeing Auburn's Tiger Walk. We must have never won a game without the players having the opportunity to show the fans that they were ready.

Actually, I believe he was 6/10 for 8 yards and 2 INT's at one point. But, how does that prove that he was scared? He didn't looked scared in the second half against Bama.

Bray looked scared at times in his freshmen year, and he just relied on his physical skills to hurl the ball. Bray did not have it mentally even as a junior. This kid needs time to develop. I suggest we move on.

Truth. Been saying it since fall camp. Not ready. Does not make him a bad person or football player. Just not ready. Which IS a reflection on the coaching staff that he is not ready and they are still playing him.

really .. since fall camp

Let us know when you're done grinding your axe with Dobbs. You're consumed with him. You post nothing else except how you dislike him. Have you EVER posted anything positive in regarss to Dobbs?

All I can say is that you sir are wrong. Dobbs scored a td for us, but it was called back because of a penalty. When he finally threw a perfect long pass down the field, the receiver couldn't catch it and it hit him right in the face practically, which would have put us in field goal range right there. Not to mention that Palardy missed a chip shot field goal. Yeah, Dobbs threw two int, but that did not cause us to lose the game. No way we lost that game because of him, but yeah keep thinking that. You already said he has no leadership skills either, which is entirely incorrect.

The guy either got his feelings hurt because an 18 year old football player wouldn't high five him during the Vol Walk, or he's related to Worley.

I thought you were at the game, since you know so much about how Dobbs looked at the Vol Walk, and now you're saying, "I think I heard..."?

Wonder if that replay had not been over turned if this post wouldve read
Dobbs he was zeroed in, the unabashed leader of this team. He was not goofing off like his team mates, he had laser sharp focus. I could just see it in his eyes......... "he wants it! and he gets it!. I could tell all of this just from being on the Volwalk for the 1st time.

Can't play the "freshman" card that's actually reality?? I guess he can't play the "current Vols not up to par talent & depth wise with the rest of the SEC" card either huh?
