A Very Special Guest to UT

Not to pee on the parade of anyone that dreams of Gruden but if they are bringing a coach in for an interview on Sunday it will be anyone but him, more than likely, because one, the majority of teams only have a bowl game left after Saturday and two Gruden will be in prep mode for MNF. If he came in it would be during the week. It's just common sense.

uh, your talking about VN so common sense doesnt apply.

This has been some of the most hilarious and yet interesting reading.... Let me see if I've got this right (I can be a little slow every now and then) .... Mr. R.A. is being honored "today-Saturday" soooooo he can't be picked up "tomorrow-Sunday" right? Ok. Undoubtedly whoever is being picked up at the airport is a "VIP" worthy of the treatment.... So please oh please let it be a Mr. ?. By the way... did anyone besides me hear yesterday that if a certain "other SEC" team loses today that "big name" coach is gone? Now that would rattle the SEC if they're rattleable (I guess that's a word)....

The fact is it's the current coach of La. Tech coming in to sign his new coaching contract to become the HC for Tennessee.

He's done so well at La. Tech that AD Hart decided to save money and hire him.

The money saved will go into a fund to be built up so we can build a new player dorm which has been losing us good recruits since the current dorm is over 40 years old.

VFL...GBO!!!

This has gone around a few times. Anyone who is internet savvy can change a wiki page. Gruden's wiki in the past month has had him listed as HC of Arky, Tenn, and even KY. My personal favorite was when Gruden's wiki page said that we hired Rick Flair to pump up the crowd. It doesn't mean anything, sorry to disappoint.

Would Flair do the Whhooooo in Rocky Top?
Flair at the home games with a mic would be great!

I don't have time to go thru all of the pages, but Lovie Smith is on a plane right now headed to Knoxville.

Yeah...he was rerouted to Morristown, told to a burger and fries and wait. Appears he is #2 on the list.

Just heard from a older man at the vol walk who has close ties to the program that Gruden has an event in Ohio every year after Thanksgiving and this year he won't be attending and that hes in Knoxville. Thought I share with VN, hopefully this could turn out into something!!!! GBO

This could be like a mystery who dunnit or a reality show. 50 head coaching prospect come to Knoxville, but only one will be crowned Mr. Tennessee!

Just to add to the rumours: Gary Patterson rode in on a stage coach from Cow Town, Charlie Strong is taking the Coors Light Silver Bullet train to Knoxville and Chris Peterson will be performing a high altitude parachute drop onto the Neyland VIP booths courtesy of the Idaho National Guard. Kirby Smart is riding a bassboat up the Tennessee river too. John Chavis was on his way but got caught up in his own prevent defense.

My brother works for Cadillac in Knoxville. He has delivered Escalades to coaches Sunseri, Dooley, and even Cutcliffe in NC. He will also detail an Escalade if a recruit is coming in for a visit. He said that usually for that they send the base model. However, he was told today to go and detail the nicest Escalade that they had because someone from UT was going to be using it to pick up a "very special guest" at the airport on Sunday. He also said it was an extended edition because they were probably bringing family. Now, this could obviously be any coach, but I just figured it was some nice information to pass along to my VN family.

Thanks for the inside info. Some don't appreciate, but I thank you.

Did I just read that we are giving Cadys to recruits on visits?

Yeah, go ahead and mark down that probation for another 70 years with a few bowl bans sprinkled in there.:detective:
