A weird fact about yourself

I can't stand to see someone else touch their eyeball/fix a contact lense. It freaks me out. Can touch mine and it doesn't bother. Nearly dropped out of nursing school because during surgery rotation in clinicals it was cataract surgery day.

Got my first speeding ticket when I was 17, going to my boyfriend's shoe store to use his employee discount. Stupid shoes cost me four times what they should have.

Didn't get another speeding until 35 years later. In ALA FREAKING BAMA! Dammit!
Like you (or anyone else) needed another reason to hate Bama.

Right?? We were headed home after a trip with hubby's sisters at Thanksgiving (their mom passed away last summer). The whole week was wonderful, til I got a little too anxious to get home. Dekalb County. SOOOO close to Tennessee!!!

If I have a recurring dream I can control it a bit. There are some I have had sporadically for years so I know exactly how they go, but now i can influence them.

I also generally remember my dreams when i wake up. Some i remember all day. There is one i had 10 years ago i could probably describe completely.

I thought my buddy was the only one. So weird to hear him tell it. He could decide which direction he wanted to walk. If he wanted to open a door, etc. Kinda freaky. He was super active and decision oriented dreamer.

Perception I guess. Since so few people seem to do it. Thought might be weird. Work bowling alley part time. We have a grill that delivers to the lanes. People are nasty and disrespectful of their public surroundings.

Not weird per se. Just weird I'm the only one in the house....Rinse and put my dirty dishes in the dishwasher if it's empty. Take the time to throw my trash in the can instead of two more steps to put it on the counter.

Nothing you're saying is weird. And you aren't the only one.

We took our son and one of his friends to eat one night, they were 12 or 13 at the time. I put the salt and pepper shakers in the right spot with the other things on the table and they both giggled. "We've been moving stuff since we sat down to watch you move it back." Little terds.

1. I can't stand vomit. It's my kryptonite. You would think I'd be used to it, 22 years after starting med school, but negative. It might even disgust me more now than it used to. Really, no other bodily fluid or tissue bothers me at all.

2. I really dislike when my grilled meat gets cold before I eat it. This is definitely a source of contention in my marriage.

*** Side note: two pages back, there were multiple posts about dreams of not being prepared for class or knowing there was a test. I really enjoy dream theory, and this is one of the most common recurring themes, known as the "test dream." It's commonly thought to occur when there is some important area in life that a person is neglecting. I, too, have had the dream multiple times, but not in quite a while.

I honestly cannot think of a period in my entire life that I wasn't neglecting something important.

I've been meaning to do something about that....

Amen. I've really been working on that, though. Not sure if I'm in a midlife crisis or just finally "growing up," haha.

I clean up my table when eating out. All the utensils, napkins and any crumbs or food around my plate get stacked in the plate and set on the edge for the wait staff.

This is hilarious! I am also a pre-bussing diner. I can't stand my eating space to be cluttered, perhaps it's some sort of OCD. If your drinking glass starts creeping towards my space I'm moving it for you.

Ive taught my whole family to pre bus the table. We will have our plates scraped, stacked, and silverware in a glass.

I can’t stand having any length on my fingernails or toenails. I cut mine probably twice a week.
I'm the exact same way. I type a lot at work, and I don't like feeling any part of the fingernail itself touching the key on the keyboard. When it starts to, that's when I cut them, and it is usually every 3-4 days or so.

I definitely have had a couple I have completely changed. Like the ones where you are being chased. Sometimes I catch the chaser, or hide instead, sometimes I just fight whatever is chasing me.

I also dream about trying to fall asleep. I keep going to different rooms trying to lay down but people/circumstances keep waking me up in the dream. No idea what it means but I have that one several times a week. Makes me wonder if I can Inception style dream.

I put all of my paper money facing the right side up and in incremental order, especially in my wallet. When people hand me money, I do this before putting it in my wallet.

I do this as well, especially the incremental order. The larger bills are always on the inside. Randomly noticed one time that my grandpa did this as well and asked him why he did. He said it was because if a thief ever saw him holding money, he would only see the singles. Made sense when he explained it that way. Not sure if I subconsciously do it for the same reason or because it just makes it easier to count.
