Abortion Rights

I would argue it is. people are recreationally having sex and babies appear. they have the abortion so they can continue to avoid responsibilities formed from their actions. I would say that is as much sport as hunting big game for a picture or a trophy.

Wow. Interesting comparison actually.

You're better than this dumbass argument. Renounce it and beg for forgiveness

I don't think it's such a terrible argument. It certainly doesn't cover all abortions, but there are plenty of people out there choosing to have sex without birth control, knowing, in the back of their mind, that if they get pregnant, they can always abort.

That does resemble, to a limited degree, the willingness to inflict pain on a sentient being in order to have pleasure.

And, I say this as someone who is fervently pro- choice.

This exact same thing went through my mind when I read the post. You worded it much better that I would though.

The OP's entire predication fails in the first sentence. A given outcome of pregnancy absolutely influences the decisions of both parties. You can't pull a trigger then say I'm not going to shoot that person. The person you are shooting won't make their decision on "well he might miss" when the shot is fired from point blank range.

Couldn’t the same be said of spermicidal fluid under pressure?

You can’t “pull the trigger” and then say, “I’m not going to get this broad pregnant.”

But hey, since you did, let’s get our coat hangers and grocery sacks.....

Why is it a bad argument?

The majority of abortions (overwhelmingly) are a matter of convenience. Or, should we say inconvenience. Complicit sex. Unwanted pregnancy. Termination.

The way you've framed the comparison shows some pretty base level similarities, but not to the extent that I would consider it fair argument against abortion. Killing babies for sport sounds like solid bait though.

It's a matter of intent.

I've never heard of anyone getting pregnant expressly for the purpose of abortion. Has anyone heard of someone going hunting expressly for the purpose of not shooting an animal?

The intent is to kill an animal for fun/challenge - hence the sport of it. Again, I can't contemplate how twisted someone would need to be to have sex with the sole intent of having their uterus scraped.

Intent has nothing to do with the result. I'm just as dead whether you accidentally run over me with your car versus intentionally.

The only difference has to do with you.

The sport of it may not have the intention, from the onset, of killing. Neither does drunk driving.

Are you using 'intent' as synonymous with 'motive'?

Those of you who voted for Trump should be barred from posting in this thread. Trump engaged in a lot of unprotected sex and he cheated on his wife. A lot. If you voted for Trump, you have lost any moral Authority you ever had. Shut up.

Are you equating infidelity to be the same as abortion?

Well, I'm safe. I loathe Trump and didn't vote for him. Anytime you want to tango on these issues, just let me know.

I'm speaking to the verbiage of people have abortions for "sport" as was suggested by the tweet.

Intent has everything with the motive, or lack there of - if it's going to be called 'sport'.

No one is disagreeing that dead babys and dead animals are a final result. Suggesting that the intentional act of hunting is the same sport as intentionally seeking abortion is absurd. As I stated, no one has sex for the sole intent of having an abortion.
