About those goal posts... [donation link]

Someone who can see, please tell us what the total donation is at now.

Paradoxically, having contributed, it is now HARDER for me to see that page than it was before; now it wants me to log in before i can go there, which I'm too lazy to do, when before I was there with one click. Heh.

Go Vols!

This all day. This is the kind of creativity we need. Cut them up into 1-foot sections with something like “South End Zone Goalpost. October 15, 2022. TN 52 AL 49” welded or cut into each laterally. Ends sealed with the Power T cut into them. I’d surely bid for one. But I’m one person…
Agreed! I’d give way more for a piece of “history” than I would simply for covering the cost of replacement.

I’d be more concerned if a bunch of tree huggers formed a human chain around Calhoun’s in protest of the goalposts being thrown into the river.
All I can say is that they had better be gone before I get up there, because there’s a rack of ribs with my name on it 👌

I could have sworn Danny White tweeted an image of the new ones, now I think he deleted the tweet and now they are asking fans for money to replace them? WTF??

Not a good look IMO.

Oh piss off. What would not be a good look is if we can't raise enough money. I put $16 on it. Well worth it. If 100,000 people do that it will be 1.6 million. That game and celebration was well worth the $16. Cough it up people!

I guess I just don't like rich people begging for money from common people.

It would be remarkable if the kick would have been bad if it hadn't been touched by Bama. 😂
Honestly it looks like it clearly changes course to the right after the tip and it still crossed pretty close to the left goalpost. Feasible that it would’ve been a hook left. We were just meant to win that game.

For those freaking out over this, I think you should relax. DW is just having some fun with it. If you look at DW's twitter we got 3mil in anonymous donations to the AD over the last couple of weeks. Nobody needs to go looking in couch cushions for the actual $20k it probably costs to replace the goal posts.

$92k+ now. 61% funded 2,442 donors.
Haha....what a great fan base. 48 hours and they've already pretty much covered the fine. By the time this is done, we'll have enough for another replacement set after we win the SEC east....too soon?

This fan base never ceases to amaze. Despite the pain of the last 15-20 years, it still remains loyal to a fault. Rabid in their support and generous in their offerings. Well done Vol Nation. In a word....pride.

Danny White or the athletic department isn't keeping the money.

It's a VolStarter campaign, the money goes to the university to fund various projects throughout campus.

VolStarter

"Projects such as funding for an upgraded transmitter tower for WUTK (goal: $10,300; raised: $14,595 from 125 supporters); materials and programming for the OUTreach Center (goal: $500; raised: $605 from 10 donors); and funding for the IEEE Robotics Team, which raised $2,486 from 10 donors (166 percent of its goal) were examples of early crowdfunding success through the program."
