ACC Championship: Clemson vs. SMU

Oh absolutely they would. Manuel even avoided speaking on that when asked about it. They already are looking for a reason to get bama in.

He also said after TCU lost they didn’t drop out of the playoffs. I think the message is they don’t want to punish teams playing in a championship game but nothing is certain when bama is involved.

Ohio State lost to a truly lousy Michigan team and only fell 4 spots, I think.

SMU would need to fall A LOT after losing to Clemson to drop completely out.

I can't see it.
Ohio St also has two wins against teams currently ranked in the top 10. SMU’s best win is Duke. Their strength of schedule is ranked 75th.

That message is bs. They’re going to do what they want. SMU makes it easy if they get blown out.

People outside of Tennessee would say the same about us after the Arkansas game.
Whats your point? People said a lot of things about a lot of teams through week 5. UT went on to beat some quality opponents...smu hasn't beat anybody and they are getting smoked against the only mediocre competition they've played.

Agree that they probably don't actually belong but that's a big drop when they said they wouldn't penalize teams for playing in championships.

SMU doesn't belong but they ranked them so high it's hard to boot them out now. But I'm just hoping for Bama to get axed, really.

I’m saying the world doesn’t revolve around the sec. Teams from other conferences are getting in the playoffs whether some people think they should or not.

If commissioner of ACC is playing chess he will let SMU tighten this thing up. If he doesn't have a clue, he will let Clemson run away with it.

They really only have to drop a couple of spots and they’re out…they are ranked 8th right now and without the automatic bid for winning the conference championship they would get the 10th seed. The 12 seed will be lowest ranked conference champion so they could drop one slot and still get in with the 11th seed but if they drop two spots they could be out.
