ACC Championship: Clemson vs. SMU

If any team not from the SEC deserves any credit for SOS, it’s Clemson for scheduling Georgia. They would have been 10-2, comfortably in the top 10 even after losing to South Carolina.

Let’s let Clemson into the SEC and take ND, too.
Normally, Clemson doesn’t schedule like that.
They caught a ton of grief for not playing UGA since they’re only like 75 miles apart and used to play each other. So they agreed to do it in Charlotte and Atlanta and they’ve lost both times.
I don’t know when or if they’ll play again. They’ll schedule Presbyterian or somebody instead

But he referenced tcu not being punished for losing a conference title game and said these games would be taken into “high regard”.
And they’ll have less losses than Clemson in the same conference. No way in hell they should be booted.

Wins and losses definitely mean a lot but Clemson played a couple tough out of conference games.
They did, but I still think the ACC should get 2 in there. I want Bama tears more than I do a home playoff game at this moment. Both would be glorious.

They really only have to drop a couple of spots and they’re out…they are ranked 8th right now and without the automatic bid for winning the conference championship they would get the 10th seed. The 12 seed will be lowest ranked conference champion so they could drop one slot and still get in with the 11th seed but if they drop two spots they could be out.
The lowest ranked conference champ is only 12 if they’re coming from outside the top 12 at final ranking. There’s a chance ASU moves higher than 12. They could be the 11 and SMU or Bama the 12th.

For sure. Maybe they were just trolling bama with this last ranking knowing they would get bumped out.

What are you talking about? Since Dabo has been there they’ve played the following OOC teams in addition to SCar. The ND games are part of ND’s ACC requirement but they don’t count as an ACC game. So Clemson is playing 8 ACC opponents + ND + Scar on those years.

2009 - #15 TCU
2010 - #16 Auburn
2011 - #21 Auburn
2012 - #25 Auburn
2013 - #5 UGA
2014 - #12 UGA
2015 - #6 ND
2016 - Auburn
2017 - #13 Auburn
2018 - Texas AM
2019 - #12 Texas AM
2021 - #5 UGA
2022 - ND
2023 - #15 ND
2024 - #1 UGA

Let’s go SMU, need to score on this drive. Just keep it within 10
If they lose, i want it to be less than what penn st loses. That way when the committee screws them for bama because they lost, it'll prove the committee lied, just to get bama in. Cause they're saying penn st is in either way, cause they're not gonna punish for these games. If they lose eorse than smu, it'll show their bias.

SMU secondary play has been impressive at times. Especially their CB they put on an island

I’m starting to believe there’s a plan in place the way this thing is all of a sudden going back and forth with no scoring……

Clemson Is 18th…doubt they overtake the other conference champs. That is, if they hold on and win…

The point was that there are three teams currently ranked below SMU who will get automatic bids so SMU, ranked 8th, is really the 11th seed. They can’t drop much and still get in.
