FSU probably offered him less money to jump ship. Oh wait, that's only for former players...

Is that the dude from bama? Maybe butch learned what he needed from him(tricks of the conference), and is done with him now.

My guess is the average age of the posters in here is around 10 or 11. Every conversation doesn't need to be turned into a joke.

I'm going to continue to panic until someone convinces me otherwise ... Not quite 'couch burning' worthy, but, I'm not drunk yet either

In all seriousness how big of a deal is this?

He handles a lot of the marketing. The "Rise to the Top" thing was his idea, the 102 letters to the recruit was his idea(he did it sort of at bama), as well as a lot of other stuff. Everything you see Tennessee doing right now is his plan. He's working close with Butch and advising on how to Tennessee more visible with recruits. Not saying he makes or breaks Tennessee recruiting, but he's done a VERY good job so far.

But it's still essentially a marketing position

Basically. He organizes how to effectively communicate to the recruits. He really is the best in the country. It's easy to get a program visible and communicate to individual recruits, but he does it very effectively.
