Active Players to Cooperstown

The Yankees are the greatest franchise in professional sports, but it's like they don't have that once face. Ted Williams is the Boston Red Sox.

But hey, when you have 30 something HOF, it's kind of hard.

I always thought of Yogi as Mr. Yankee.

Yogi would have had more love had he not had the huge fight with the Boss. The years he was gone hurt both he and the franchise.

The torch was always passed from one to another. Which, to me, is a sign of a great franchise.

And don't forget guys like J.R. Richard, Tris Speaker and Bob Cerv.

Didn't Ryan say Richard was the best pitcher he ever saw? It's a damn shame what happend to him. His 1979 season was excellent before his stroke.

And the B+ Guys...Dominic Dimaggio, Don Drysdale, Lefty Gomez, Bobby Thomson (funny story, after Lawrence Tynes won the NFC Title with his FG, he still wasn't the most famous Scot to make a walk off the field play)

True. I always have respected the Yankee organization (although I still hate you guys :)

BPV and I talked about him one evening on here. I've had many baseball guys tell me that he threw harder and was nastier than anyone they ever faced.

Most people don't know this, but Bobby Thomson was traded to the Milwaukee Braves. He broke his ankle in ST and made way for...Hank Aaron.

And there were big arms in the league at that time, Ryan, Blue, several others.

Ron Santo, Duke Snider, Hoyt Wilhelm.

Makes me cry...dads and sons can always talk about this game.

I'm embarrassed that I've never seen field of dreams.

I've heard *61 is excellent also.
