And how many of those kids ended up signing with the Vols? One. A midget PG who is a wannabe Joe Jackson. So yes, you are wasting you're time in Memphis. GTFO.

The point was, how many of those guys signed with Memphis? ZERO

OK, Mr. Revisionist History, what about the 3 kids last year the Vols thought were locks to be in orange? I believe ALL them signed with Memphis. Bruce's BBQ ain't got nothin' on what we make in the M-Town.

I don't know where you were getting your info from but the only guy we had a realistic shot at was Crawford and we stopped recruiting him cause we already had 2 better guys committed at the same position.

Ok so how smart are UT's coaches to keep recruiting the other two if they knew they had no shot?

Smart enough to not recognize his own house or one of his assistant coach's wife in a picture huh?

Haha, if you dont think Jones is legit then you either a.) have not seen him play or b.) have no idea what you are looking at when you watch a basketball game.

Chris Jones got the best of Joe Jackson, so how you figure he is a midget Joe Jackson wannabe is beyond me

Joe Jackson also played with an injured quad for half the season last year. Chris Jones is a legit PG and a good acquisition for the Vols. However, lets keep it in perspective. Tennessee can be successful in Memphis but they need to do a better job in selecting players they have a legit chance with. Chris jones was a good target because of his HS coach and the fact Memphis already had a similar PG in Joe Jackson. I wont speculate as to which one is better but We werent really recruiting jones. Ole Miss does a really good job of cherry picking players from the metro area as well.

To the guy who said Chris Jones isnt very good. What makes you think that? He is a shoot first PG that shared minutes and time with some of the best players in Memphis last season on his high school team and still had great numbers. Jones will be a great player. Many people are comparing him to a Tony Harris type.

Gunslinger who will shoot you out of as many games as he shoots you in? I don't see it so much. I think he will be more patient than Harris was. Harris took so many shots early in the clock that were contested and had no business being taken. Harris wasn't as slight as Jones either. I see a good bit of difference in the two and how there game will be in the SEC. Could just be me, but I think Jones will be a better player than Harris after all is said and done... probably will have significantly less pts, but because his role will be different.

Go Vols!!!

Harris also didnt have a whole lot of scoring around him either. I see Jones having to make some adjustments. I hope he is planning on doing this during prep school.

From what I have heard he has grown already toward being more of a true PG in his short time at prep school and while is still a solid scorer, he is a better passer than the coaches thought he was when first coming in

Thats good. Everyone in Memphis knew he could score but his passing ability was suspect. But then again, he didnt really need to pass much in the type of offense and talent he had surrounding him at Melrose.

True, this season will show more of his distributing ability and could either result in him skyrocketing in the rankings or falling a bit. I see the prior as more likely. He has too much bball IQ to falter IMO

:good!: +1

I don't see how anyone could legitimately want to play against C-USA talent if given the chance to compete against much better opponents.

Like Gonzaga, Georgetown, Kansas, Miami, UT? Also, UAB, UTEP, Houston are better than any team not named UK, UT, or FLA in the SEC.

Vanderbilt, Georgia, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State would beat UAB and Houston like they stole from their mothers.

I agree with Hat on this one.

MSU, especially with Hood and Gardner should be very good in the future.

CALISDELUSIONAL... I would put SC in the mix as well. SC would be a pretty even matchup with any of the teams you mentioned. UGA, VANDY, UT, UK, and UF would slaughter those CUSA FUPA's
