Adonis Thomas

....i'm not sure really what the problem is here with it

The word's often also used in that phrasing as a way of saying if something is ok/allowed/premissible/ etc

Thanks for that. As you could see, neither of us knew what the word meant.

Just to clear this up. Adonis Thomas will not be coming to Tennessee. Im not saying this to start a war, Im just telling you he wasnt planning on attending prior to the Pearl fallout. He was interested but UTK needed to really show him a great visit in order for him to come. Im a Memphis Tiger fan and hope he stays home but I think its going to be an interesting decision at the end.

Basically, Pearl didnt screw this up. I actually like Pearl and hope he stays in Knoxville. However, he needs to stay away from my hometown talent!

Homefry Pastner better not screw up this year.

If he can pull a Calipari and get his biggest recruits straight to the NBA lottery, he will keep being able to pull in top talent.

If losing his star point guard means his team will muddle through CUSA season, and no one goes to the NBA after this year, he is going to go from wunderkid to goat pretty fast in negative recruiting. TN will announce no postseason ban before the 2012 class which is when we really plan on cleaning up.

Hope you're right about the no post season ban.

Actually we only have one potential early departure (Will Barton) on the roster right now. The other guys will be goo9d this year but they need a lot of development. Joe Jackson is only 5'10" therefore its speculated that the NBA will wait a few season before going after him. Kendrick and Black are both raw talents but will be here at least two season.

Pastner has to be able to do two things this season in my mind. First of all he needs to win the big games and have a decent showing in the NCAA tourney. Then, he needs to get Witherspoon drafted in the lottery. The second is a stretch but there are a lot of teams that have expressed lottery interest in the kid.

Im not worried about CUSA. The bottom dwellers got better but the best teams from last year all were depleted. UAB will be the toughest challenge.

Do not understand the Joe Jackson size to NBA timing ratio. Help.

There are going to be bigger point guards coming out next year that will be safer picks for the NBA scouts mainly. The following season's draft looks a little depleted of PG's. The NBA is also trying to determine how big of a defensive liability he might be being under 6 ft. The kid has major talent and will play in the NBA one day but he's going to have to dominate this season in order to think about going. In the end, I think he stays for one more year and goes into the draft as one of the top-5 PGs in it instead of a late first rounder.

Sounds like he really enjoyed his visit, but everyone's telling him we're going to be banned from postseason play which is a big concern for him.

who's telling him that?

we'd probably be suspending ourselves from postseason play for a year before anything bringing the NCAA's 'banned' hammer down

Negative recruiting via other coaches and likely everyone else that doesn't want him going here.

Will Barton is the only one that could possibly go one and done. Witherspoon might test the waters but he isn't near ready (and might no ever be).

That being said, Pastner should do very well on talent alone (especially in that conference....or lack thereof).

I think Witherspoon will go after this year. He might be getting bad advice but I dont think he stays unless he has a bad year.

It would be a huge mistake. He is no better than Dozier (slightly different players, I know).

if adonis wants to get more playing time and play on a top program ,he better go to ut cause pastner isnt going to keep memphis atop c usa and players will be staying three and four years, because more and more europeans are entering nba every year and very few players will leave collage early, cause with no time spent in a collage program they are more riding the pine in nba which is foolish because you dont get better sitting on the bench

All hail the Left Nut Legend.

Instead of a bidding war on the prospects, the prospects will start funneling money into the school to see who earns a Scholly... My money is on Austin Rivers winning this one
