Adonis Thomas

That's valid, but you're asking him to place a bet on Long doing what he should have done last year or sooner.

Only if he signs early. If he likes everything about Fayetteville except the fool at the head of the bench, he can wait til spring and see how things play out.

The problem with your logic is that Arkansas only made Thomas' list b/c of the relationship his family has with their staff. Pelphrey and Ostrom have put a ton of work into this one. Thomas is signing early anyway, so it's a moot point.

Yeah, I'm sure Arkansas would have no shot if he waited and they hired a real coach. It's not like Arkansas has ever gotten players out of Memphis. Oh, wait.

Moo point. All the guys that say they're early signers do it, all the time every time.

Yes, I guess it's possible the hypothetical new Arkansas coach could rebuild a relationship quickly and get Thomas. But is it likely? No, unless Arkansas was going to hire someone close to the Calipari level, which isn't going to happen. If Mike Anderson at Missouri couldn't make Thomas' top 5, why would you think Mike Anderson at Arkansas could swoop in late and get him?

Either way, he's signing early. His father said that publicly a few days ago. Unless there's some drastic change in the next seven weeks, that's what will happen.

Looks like Adonis is pumped for Memphis Madness.

My guy @YoGottiKOM gone hold it down tomorrow night even better than last year!

T. Young is crying because people in Memphis do not know him in Wolken's delusional mind.

T Young may be able to get around Memphis without extra body guards because he went to Georgia Tech. If people recognized him as a millionaire he might get jacked over and over and over.

Thomas has been a Memphis lock for some time. The current situation at UT sure hasn't helped in his or any other top recruit's recruitment.

I do not know Adonis Thomas, but it seems like he was a Memphis lean who gave other schools a chance to change his mind. Because of our lack of a big in his class and the quality of guys we have around him, plus some big OOC victories lately and tons of TV exposure, I thought we had a real shot.

Having a real shot at a Memphis kid who grew up loving the Tigers is an indication that Pearl's group is making tremendous progress in recruiting that city. People act as if coming in 2nd does not matter, but it really does. If a high school coach hates you and will not let you make your pitch you do not finish 2nd.

Ricky Bobby must not have wanted to win the Cup. Getting some top 3 finishes in Memphis means you are developing a good reputation with high school coaches there that will eventually pay off. Atlanta and Memphis should serve Bruce well over the next 10 years.

There will be more top 20 studs each of the next 2, maybe 3, years in Memphis. Stokes-'12, JWIII-'13 and Black-'14.

Just like Thad Young, Elliot Williams, Joe Jackson, et al. Every second Tennessee spends recruiting in Memphis is a second wasted. Period. I would hope Easterwood's alliance with Vaccaro would disavow the staff of the notion they are going to get a fair shot in the Bluff City.

Come on Hat, with our long history of pulling the top players out of Memphis, you just know we aren't wasting our time recruiting there.

We just have to be patient and let them go to another school for a year, not see significant minutes, and then transfer here. At least, that is how we have been somewhat successful in recruiting west TN.
