That team looked they were already in week 8

to their credit though, it felt like a sauna in Nashville tonight

It blows my mind that 7 years in, Spurrier still hasn't found a dropback passer.

Spurrier needs a reality TV show SO BAD

can you imagine the excellent TV just waiting to happen

not to mention the GOLDEN YEARS of Spurrier-Garcia interaction that we missed out on

He scrambled last year all the time. That is what really beat us was him picking up 2nd or 3rd and longs. If Eric Crouch can make it a full season he could too.

Tonight, I saw two SEC East teams we are capable of beating.

I'm not sure if Spurrier is going to make it to the end of the season. He's hobbling around out there like an 85 year old man.

Also, his arm strength is lacking to say the least. He has no zip on the ball and if you could force them into passing, they are beatable.

Are you really comparing Shaw to Crouch?

I thought Ole Steve showed Jesse Palmer that he's the one wearing the visor for a reason.

Palmer and Pollack were in the booth crying about him not running the ball in the third quarter, then the 4th quarter rolls around and Latimore looked really fresh to me.

Not sure if it was just first game jitters or what, but both teams looked pretty sloppy. SC should have won pretty easily, but they gave up big plays and then couldn't move the ball without Latimore or Shaw. Being that one dimensional won't work against better teams than Vandy.

Totally agree. SC didn't appear to have any all-SEC receivers. May have been due to Vandy's pass defenders though.

Both teams very, very beatable. USCjr incredibly overrated. No surprise.

Been saying that every time it has come up in one of the prediction threads. Vandy isn't a very good team and still gave USCe all they wanted. If not for a horrible call, the delusion of USCe probably would have ended tonight.

I was torn watching the game. I've really grown to despise Franklin but it might have been better for UT in a number of ways if USCe had lost.

Candy-Vandy had a good shot at an upset of the gamecocks but they fizzled out just like every other time. They look real good for maybe 3 1/2 quarters but they will always be Vanderbilt in football...coming up short at the end. I thought honestly they played a hard nosed game to win and maybe to embarrass Spurrier. SC should not be ranked 9th in the country but after this showing at 25 if at all. Being a TN.team from Nashville, I was pulling for Vandy just b/c I can't stand SC and Spurrier. GaVol is right in that Spurrier has not found a pocket passer and it really should be pretty embarrassing for his program..no run & gun like he had in those Florida days.

Wasn't impressed by either team. Lattimore can be stopped, Rodgers isn't that great of a passer, Stacy can be stopped, and Vandy fans are STILL ignorant.

USCjr. does have a good defense, though, specifically front 7.

Missed the game tonight, was pulling for Vandy.
But this means one of four things...
Vandy is good.
SCar sucks.
Both are good and are definite loses *Snickers*
Both suck, and the SEC East race just got blown right open.

I'm going with the last one. GBO!

Are you really comparing Shaw to Crouch?

Yes but in size and being a running qb only. Crouch was 6'0" 210lbs. Shaw is 6'1 200lbs. Differing from larger running qb's like Tommy Frazier or Cam Newton.

Shaw took a few hits tonight with one big one. Crouch took a number of them. Crouch is by far the better player of course.

Edit: No racism intended

Shaw is limited going down the field, but he's a gamer. The kind of QB that drives DC's insane.

This! I agree. He is tough. I became a Shaw fan tonight. Like that QB for Kansas St, last year that was always bleeding.

Vandy got hosed big-time on the 4th down pass late in game--pass interference not called. Obvious fu by the officials...right in front of a back judge.
