The textbox is gone now? These guys cannot get it together. Ainge saying Chris Peterson is a panzy for not taking other coaching jobs. Chris Pertersen's son has been very ill and needed to stay close to the Doctors treating him. Ainge, get your facts right man!

To be fair, I don't know how accurate or fact-based the story about the son's illness needing to be treated in Boise is. I mean, Boise Idaho is hardly known for its cutting-edge medicine. I've never seen a well documented or detailed account of the story.

uhhh, pot meet kettle. Petersen's son has been well enough for Petersen to move for some time.

His son had cancer when he was an assistant at Oregon, almost a decade ago.

It's still a stupid remark by Ainge. People accept and decline job offers for a variety of reasons. Calling him a pansy makes Ainge look like a complete meathead.

Definitely.

Also, we don't know specifically what offers he has rejected or for how much money they were for vs. how much Washington is giving him.

I wanted Hart to make a run at him last year. I felt it was imperative that we at least make him turn down 4-5 million a year (which I don't know if he has ever been offered). But Hart clearly had other priorities.

Yeah, I wasn't questioning the illness, just not clear on the need for it to be treated in Boise (which I've never seen any detailed reporting of). I edited my original comment to reflect this.

If Ainge really did call him a "pansy" is pretty pathetic. How about Washington in this situation though? They get to upgrade while USC at best stayed the same (Sark for O). Would be hilarious if Petersen brought in O on defense and as recruiting coordinator. That scenario would also be scary for the rest of the PAC 12.

The only worse scenario I can think of is the one I have been having nightmares about: Saban to Texas and Gruden to Bama

Petersen said in an interview a couple of years ago that his decision to stay in Boise had a lot to do with the treatment his son was receiving with Doctors that they were comfortable with. His son is doing much better now.

Yep. Got to think Pertersen will do well at Washington.

The question would be recruiting IMO. With Oregon, USC, UCLA and the Arizonas, Washington likely has to recruit more than just the northwest IMO. Thus, picking up O would be gigantic for them.

I think Sarkisian will prove to be a huge upgrade. No way a smart guy like Pat Hayden was hitching his wagon to O.

I'm no Hart apologist, but I'm convinced Hart did all anyone could do to convince Gruden to come to Knoxville. I think the story and rumors got way overblown.

I for one like him for wishing to stay put. What is wrong with someone being content with were they are. Life is not always about money. (I can say that because I don't have any.) I bet he gets to go home to his wife each night and rarely sleeps in his office.

Cluelessness has been the norm in Knoxville for the past several years, very frustrating. :furious3:

I disagree about Sark. I understand what you're saying about O if you're bringing in Petersen, gruden (obviously), or a proven winner. I've never been that impressed with Sark, however, and I don't see him getting USC back on top of the PAC-12
