It would be nice to have MEach for another year. However dont forget that Q hancock is waiting in the wings. He is going to be a gamer.

Calvin Johnson reminds me of Mike Williams, big guy. I think he may bust, maybe not, but I think he will.
But Mike Williams plays for the Lions. If a player sucks at detroit, I always understand the situation and let him move on to the next team before I pass judgement on his success.

Calvin is definitely the top receivr as far as career and probable draft status. I can go with that. I don't think anyone beats him. After that, it's a toss up for me and goes back to team need. Samardzija could go next if a team lacks the super tall and effective fast receiver. He won't necessarily have to have full breakaway speed. The only thing Meach will get scrutinized over is his durability. He has had a string of aggravations that has kept him out of a large portion of games in his career, but he demonstrates a raw, but disciplined talent that does not hold second to very many. The others, I haven't watched enough to comment.
I don't know about Samardzija going all that high... Second or third rounder, IMO, unless teams are desperate for receivers.

If Meachum is a projected 1st rd pick(which he should be) then he goes pro. If for some reason he falls to the 2nd rd,I believe he comes back.

Ainge says he is coming back now,but if the scouts say he will be a 1st rd pick,he would be foolish not go pro too.

I think it's far from a forgone conclusion that Meachem is a 1st rounder. Unless you're one of the top 3 WRs taken, you'll fall. Of course, if he finishes with 1,300 yds and runs a 4.3 for the scouts, all bets are off.

Ainge isn't a 1st rounder. He'd probably go the 2nd day. That, by the way, is according to Scouts, Inc. who has the current crop rated plus juniors. Incidentally, he isn't in the top 10 right now.

Playing in Detroit is really bogging down Roy Williams' career.

"it's stupid how close we came to scoring 40 out there".

someone failed to look at the scoreboard of that game where they ACTUALLY scored 6.

It's on GoVolsExtra so I can't read it. All I can see is that Ainge says he'll for sure be back next year, which isn't surprising. What does it say about Meachem? A little help please....
If Ainge continues to play as well as he has already, he will get some offers, no doubt. He's got size, great arm, tutored by Cutcliffe. What more could you ask.I think he will follow Peyton's path and go.Meacham's gone IMO.

Meachem is nowhere near a 1st round pick right now, especially as a "lock". If he goes to the combine and blows up like Dante did, then he could scoot into the 1st round, but there are waaaaaaaaaay too many receivers in the draft this year and alot of the teams that will be in the Top 10 or so in the draft are ones that need receivers, but need other things more desperately.

Meachem will be back. No one needs to worry about this. The injuries to some of our players might scare him into going, but with another year under his belt with Cutcliffe and Ainge, you'll be hard pressed to find another receiver that will be on his level.

If he comes out this year, there is a chance he could go into the 1st round, but more than likely a mid 2nd or 3rd round pick.

If he comes out next year, he's a sure fire Top 10-15 pick if he has another good year.

There are about 20-30 million in differences there.

I knew Ainge would come back, he is definetly not ready for the NFL yet. He has to be able to handle the big games first. Now, Meachem is a different story. He was a top 20 recruit coming out of high school and has always had the talent. I personally think he will go pro, but lets hope I am wrong.

Are you talking about the Dwayne Jarrett that has been hurt about 10 times this season? Meachem will blow him out at the combine. Unless he's far less intelligent than I think, Robert will be playing on Sundays next year.
question for you....do you think Bret will go pro too?
swain?
