Ainge's BBB

this u dont have to be a million dollar donor to make a difference.. if all the fans think alike n quit donating regardless of amount n quit buying tickets the clueless will have to make a change..

the sad thing is.that they will more than likely screw the next hire up..:salute:

Hart and Hambone - the most dynamic duo in Tennessee athletics history. Faster than Cobb-Webb; more dynamic than Pickens-Harper.

Hart will screw-up the Bruce Pearl rehire even though it's a no brainer. It's a slam dunk no brainer.

I can think of a handful of reasons to hesitate:

Pat Riley's agent approaches Hart.
Erik Spoelstra falls in love with Knoxville.
Jesus wants the job.

The same clique who wanted him fired still don't want him back even if we never win more than 10 games a year. They are anti Pearl for life more than they are pro vols. Sadness.
If Pearl were to come back and not be able to recruit until August, adding recruits that might default, it might take him 2 to 3 years to rebuild a squad.
How might people react if he had 2 or 3 losing seasons before he got rolling again?
Can you imagine this board?

I can see a lot of double standards, hypocrisy, role reversals, and turncoats under that hypothetical scenario.

Come on, you know the answer to that; they'll blame Martin for destroying the program and give Pearl a 3 year pass.

Well some of them well; the fairweather fan portion of the fanbase will turn on him just like they would any other coach.

What hiring has Hart screwed up so far, Jones or Serrano? I don't know that he would do a great job hiring a BB coach but do we really know?

The jury is still out on both of those but I believe both programs made an upgrade and are on the right path, so I'd say he didn't screw up either of those.

The whole problem with this team since CCM has been here is that he can't or won't adapt to what the other team is throwing at us. If you remember I was pointing out that we need to be able to throw a zone at opposing offenses his first season and I started pulling for zo to make a winner of out of us.
If Pearl came back and could not go to the tourney in three years then I will personally lead the charge to fire him. I want to win and compete with the top teams in the nation every year regardless who is coaching. You and I have been watching Tennessee basketball before a lot of these posters were born. Pearl showed we could compete and the administration has showed they want to play it on the cheap. Why not bring someone who has proved his worth here and we don't have to worry if they have a few winning seasons of them going somewhere else. It's the program I am concerned with, it just happens to be Pearl who I think fits best.

Don't think it'll happen, but I think he'd turn it around faster than 3 years.
Pearl was quite a bit better at assessing JUCO talent and he'd rebuild with JUCOs and transfers.

Pearl's lawyer is currently petitioning the NCAA to reduce his show cause to Mar/Apr time frame. Pearl getting a job anywhere this year basically depends on that outcome. With the lenIency of sentences lately, I would think the NCAA would reduce the show cause 4 mo. to avoid a very costly lawsuit. I'm sure Pearl is banking on the same thing.

Wouldn't his penalties still stay in tact until august if he got a waiver?

Jones was the 8th man on his list when he should have been 2nd.

Behind Gruden.

Hart dissed Gruden. He dissed Pat. His FBC search was rubbish and borderline embarassing. He has done nothing to enhance the UT athletics brand - our one global brand - and explain why this is good for UT as a whole.

In other words, he's muddled about lost, not shown leadership, lucked into CBJ (who still has a lot to prove).

This is dumb. He's made one hire and it looks to have been a good one. If/when the football team gets back to winning no one will care how the search went. He'll look like a guy who made a great hire.

Dissed Gruden? Haha..he was never coming here. Get real.

How did he diss Pat? Honest question.

A) Your link doesn't work, and even if it does, some Bleacher Report-like website proves nothing.

B) It keeps being thrown around how "loyal" Pearl is to UT; if he's so loyal, why do I need to worry about him going to Alabama?

C) It's going to take a lot more than posting on a message board to make anything happen.

He is going to coach somewhere again. If Tennessee doesn't want him then he will move on and likely to one of our rivals. Ask ole Phil Fulmer if an upset fan base has the power or determine the fate of a coach. If tickets aren't selling. Coaches get fired.

Very true.
