Does anybody else realize that Pearl's show cause doesn't end till August 2014?

He's not getting hired here till that ends.

He was let go because he lost all control of a bunch of miscreants that he mistakenly believed he could coach. Reeves Nelson was the beginning of the end for him.

There is an SI article written a year prior to his firing that greatly details just how awry the program went towards the end of his watch. I tried linking it, but it won't paste the link. Just google "SI Ben Howland Reeves Nelson".

First, I have been a long time reader/follower of this site, but this is the first time I have posted on this site.

Second, Bravo you are correct.

I have helped to pay for many footers, floors, walls, and roofs in the many projects that have occurred over the years. With that said, if a change is not made pertaining to the Men's basketball coach after this season, Mr. Hart can get someone other than me to pay for the current and future projects. I am officially done giving UT money!!

I do not want to see failure happen to any coach associated with UT, so with that thought in mind, I would like to see another university come in and hire Martin away from UT. I would be the first to tell Mr. Hart---let him go!! I went to three games under Martin and can honestly say that was two too many.

I must admit, I am a big Bruce supporter and would really like to have him back. And I understand that the UT Athletic Department is a business and MONEY is always in the conversation. Unfortunately, Mr. Hart does not pay any attention to or give sites such as this any merit as there is no MONEY changing hands. With that said, I agree with most posters on this site, MONEY makes the world go 'round and is the quickest way to get a person's attention so if change is what you want, withhold your money!! :twocents:

A) Your link doesn't work, and even if it does, some Bleacher Report-like website proves nothing.

B) It keeps being thrown around how "loyal" Pearl is to UT; if he's so loyal, why do I need to worry about him going to Alabama?

C) It's going to take a lot more than posting on a message board to make anything happen.

i seen that,shouldn't he have all ready applied or what ever to get that out of the way by now ? or does it just stop then ? and like somebody else said would that matter if he was hired before that was up ? I'm just curious,i don't think he will be back,which is sad,but that is the way it looks

When Bruce was coach I got to see a lot more games on TV out here. I'm all in. Maybe it's not likely, but I can hope.

Here's a challenge to those who don't want to see BP courtside next year: go to TBA and look at the NCAA banners. Pearl accomplished more than anyone in UT hoops history. 6 years straight and the only Elite 8. It's only logical, at this point.
