When wondering what is dragging some people's perception of UT down, consider this: San Diego State, who last week got their first victory of the year against Air Force, lost to Cal Poly Saturday.

I guess games such as the Air Force game counter our great games we have played this year.My second guess would be these kind of games kill us in the computer polls as far as the BCS goes.

UT almost losing to Air Force, combined with the close games against Alabama and SC. Alabama will probably finish 4th in the west. SC hasn't been ranked all season, and lost to a very weak Georgia team.

Of course, Texas's close games against Nebraska and Texas Tech didnt seem to affect them in the polls. Neither did Auburn's close game.

SC was not ranked. But, they were moving up very close to the 25 spot up until this week. I don't remember if it was the AP or Coaches...but they had received quite a few votes last week. Not that it really matters, but it at least says they were in the ball park.

Winning in Lincoln and Lubbock is considerably more impressive than beating an awful team on your home field by a single point.

No, it's an indication of how poorly UT played. Air Force is wretched. They got destroyed Saturday by a BYU team that lost to lowly Arizona.

With the new clock rules your seeing more NFL type close games.

Check the NFL scores there chock full of 24-17's, 31-28's. It really didn't use to be like that in the NCAA, but now it is.

A close game is a win, and I like winning.

They have played 1 and only 1 good team all year. Nebraska is a joke and OU was realling when they played.

Yes UT should have beaten USAFA better. But to say that we only played bad and give those guys no credit is wrong.

UGA and Cal. Just incase you forgot. I didn't put them there but they were there none the less and we handled them both.

Yeah, the clock rules have really kept Ohio State's games close this year.

BYU also took a pretty good BC team to double OT. They lost of course...

Hey hate, tell me the last time a national champion team didn't have a close win. Much less a team like us this year who is not a NCT. The fact is we are a good team and good teams find a way to win in the situation we found ourselves in with USAFA.

There's a difference between a close game against Alabama and a close game against one of the twenty worst teams in college football. A good team doesn't find itself in trouble against a team as putrid as Air Force. Find me the last Top 10 team to come that close to losing to such a horrible team.

A win Saturday will validate this team as very good. Otherwise, it will go down as a pretty good team that beat the teams it should have.

The UGA representation of a "Top 10" team is very laughable. I'll give you that. But, Cal is very possibly a legit "Top 10" team.

Hold on one min. HAT Air force has a great q.............aahhhhh but they do have the best re.........sometimes they kick well.......forget it they do :salute: suck!!!!!!!

You could put the AF game into the same category as:
Arky 21-Vandy 19
ND 40- MichSt 37
USC 26-Wash 20
WI 30-IL 24
and maybe a couple more but the big difference is that those were near upsets to BCS conference schools.

If Cal wins at SC, I'll give them credit. Otherwise, they will have gone the entire season without beating a good team.
