Air Force vs. Tennessee Game Thread

Anyone remember the Syrucuse came from 98? Close calls and good luck will always help UT =)

Syracuse in 1998 does not compare to Air Force 2006. Like I've been saying, championship teams in recent memory haven't had close calls with mid majors.

Still, we'll beat Florida.

Exactly right Bill. I also found they weren't calling penalties on AF when they were actually TACKLING defenders. A cut-block is legal... tackling a guy as if he has the ball is not.

Either way, we had it well in hand and Ainge threw a bad pass into coverage. It was his only poor decision of the night, but it nearly cost us the game.

Yes Ainge played a great game, but we could have ended that game with a field goal if he does not throw that interception.

Not as worried about the defense as bad as they looked tonight. That is a tough offense to prepare for in one week.

I am not sold on our run blocking, it was average last week, and was not great tonight.

I still say that this game was a wake up call to the D and we'll be ready for FL next week. We'll put up a fight that FL hasn't seen from UT in a long time.

Some of the highlights I saw seemed to show that our D was late......like they were one step behind and couldn't make the adjustments. Was it only because of the option or was their Offense that fast?

The one good tackle I saw from the D was when AF went for two and we tackled the guy with a head lock.... who was that?? That was awesome!

It was the option. Dont get me wrong, they were fast also, but Tennessee has never done well against the option.

We won the national championship in '98 in large part due to Godly intervention in the Arkansas game...did we deserve to win that game...no. But we won the national championship and will be forever remembered as such. My point is the old cliche'. A win is a win is a win. We are 2 and 0. Let me say it again. We are 2 and 0! C'mon, Gators...show us what u got!!

Gotcha. Another thing, what was going on with the special teams?

(Remember I listened on the radio, hard to visualize)
On the onside kicks we looked like we were in our regular formation every time...even on the last one...I don't know what was up with that.

In case no one noticed, I just gained "senior member" status in this fine forum with my last post - #100...it only takes 100? God, I feel so old!...lol.

It wasn't so much that you got your hundred- I think they just decided that sitting through this one had to have aged you enough for honorary AARP membership
